I couldn't name you a single developer not using AI tools at least in some capacity these days. It's just them accepting reality of software development these days.I can! Me.

I've been both victim and perpetrator enough times to know that not all forms of bullying caries "actual malice". But even if we are not conciously being mean to someone, it does not mean we aren't being mean to them.
I think we, as a society, should apply peer pressure with responsibility to end cases where it passes the line. To quote Uncle Ben "With great power; comes great responsibility. Also, your aunt said to wash your hands before dinner."

Ah, so what we are talking about here is peer pressure?Indeed, good choice of term, though when passive peer pressure turns into active peer pressure the line to bullying isn't far off.

So sometimes you pick your battles. The person that sparked this discussion did just that. They chose to give up the battlefield of browsers because it was less of a cost to them than to deal with whoever they had to deal with.
And even with school yard bullies; "just resist" sounds great and noble on paper, in reality it does squat, you might as well take some ammo away from them and hope they target someone else. Since ss you say with that type of bully they don't care what it is about or who they are targetting, they are just gunning for the easy marks.
EDIT: Or to say it more succinctly, you missed the entire point of my comment. I pointed out that we should not put the blame on the victim, we should put the blame on the bully.

Not wanting to be bullied is a solid reason to do what the bullies want you to do?Different type of bullying. You are referencing the typical school yard bully out to get someone. The OP is referring to bullying within a relationship, like among friends.
Hm.
Will this make the person happy?
Will it make the person feel free?
Will it at least stop the bullying?
I'm my experience, they'll find something else.
Because bullying is not actually about what you're doing or wearing.

Now why someone would feel the need to make fun of someone else for using a certain brand of a tool over another brand of the same tool; that is the thing we should shake our collective heads at.

@Cyril, "not wanting to get bullied", tends to be a pretty solid reason to do something. But Firefox has always been my favourite, I only switched to chromium and chrome a few years ago because people made fun of me for still using Firefox lolSince when it's a good reason?! It's beyond me.

Ace Attorney and Megaman Battle Network are fantastic games!
But €37 is a steep ask for a humble bundle, right?

It does seem to really be just an engine remaster, but hey, at least it is reasonably priced. And owners of the original get 30% off, allegedly, which is always nice.

Game looks fantastic! :woot:
The original Platypus soundtrack is back with even more officially licensed remixes of classic 1980s game tunes from our friends at C64audio.I was gonna say, that sounds an awful lot like C64 remixes I've heard on Slayradio over the years. Anyone remember which game tune that was?

As far as I know, there is no way to make these big generic LLMs and actually be profitable, they are just way too expensive to produce and run. (and the potential law cases)
AI will stay, as it should, but it will be focused towards actual useful stuff in specific areas. Like finding interesting patterns in the night sky, folding proteins, automated translation etc. And the big boys, who are not profitable, will run to the next bubble to continue their pyramid scheme.

All this being said, I personally believe (or at least hope!) that the bubble will indeed burst - or maybe more accurately that the use for these technologies will plateau to a less speculative level which at least leaves some breathing roomIt will for sure. The AI bubble (like a lot of bubbles) seems to mainly be targeted towards attracting investor money to pay of the previous round of investors.

We see this all the time; "but my business idea would not work without <unethical-tool-of-the-day>, it would not be economically feasible!"
Can't make your game idea without a well trained AI and can't afford to source an ethical one? Maybe don't make that game then, make another one that you can afford to make.
Having the right to compete in a market does not mean having a right to finanical success in that market.

@middle_pickup and we are happy to receive you. Welcome, welcome!
I would say 9/10 devs and projects understand that users don't always know what is an upstream (original developer) and downstream (packager) issue and don't blame you. Unfortunately there are a few projects which are very popular among a certain demographic (for instance us gamers) where the dev is technologically skilled but otherwise less than ideal. Duckstation dev is but one example. We have had others over the years as well.
Keep reporting those bugs and issues, even if the dev ends up pointing you in a different direction every bug report helps someone out there know that they aren't alone in their problem!
