... Unfortunately, as hostile as NVIDIA is to open source, their cards still work pretty well for Linux.
Do you have an Optimus system? Intel/Nvidia?
Well, I do....
It does not work fine.
If I leave the discrete card (NVIDIA) always ON, the FAN goes crazy sometimes.
To switch to Intel I need to logout/login or some other weird trick.

Bumblebee is the salvation, but does not support Vulkan.

NVIDIA are working towards better support for NVIDIA Optimus on Linux

Quoting: TeqI just got a laptop with Optimus and was bummed to find out (the hard way) that bumblebee doesn't support Vulkan. Hopefully this solution will.
I just found about this after reading this article :(

Just realized why I could not get DXVK working.
Sad, sad...

Hope NVIDIA actually DOES something about it.
Thankfully I could get bumblebee working. Not an ideal solution of course.

Before bumblebee, I was using my Optimus system in DISCRETE mode.
For some unknown reason, my FAN keep getting crazy even in simple tasks and from time to time it did short bursts. Extremely annoying!!

I'm very sad about this.

Had so much fun playing Rust.
One of my favourite Linux native games.
Hope they change their mind about Linux support on the final release.

Survival game 'Rust' adds a new Team UI, a deployable watchtower, compass and more

Rust was more or less stable in my past experience.

I just stopped playing because the hardware requirements are insane. Even in low quality the game plays at max 20 FPS in my comp (which is NOT so old).

Heya!
I am also using Fedora 28 and was struggling to get Albion working.

Before trying tailDASHeF suggestion, try doing what I did below:
Download the "libsndio.so.6.1" file.
One source is this: https://nofile.io/f/hEMNfgyAQ09 [External Link]
Place this file inside /usr/lib64 (need root privileges of course).

RUN THE GAME!

If it still crashes, besides this mentioned above, also do the part suggested by tailDASHeF.
Put this inside the game script launcher (Albion-Online file):
LD_PRELOAD=~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/amd64/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libSDL2-2.0.so.0 "$SCRIPTPATH/launcher/Albion-Online" "--no-sandbox" "$@" &
