We really need more UE4 and Unity games to support :-

OpenGL + OpenAL + SDL2 over DX11/dotnet
before supporting native Linux OS

Quoting: charliebrownauI would love to see wine integrated in Linux steam

So you could download dx9c games and run the games in wine session
Similar to the dosbox wrapper games under windows steam
That would be a neat feature but unlikely due to licensing, your best bet would be to run lutris which pretty much does what you are talking about.
Ive given Lutris a go
fails to install anything and just hangs

Not really having much luck with Lutris or SAMBA or DNLA streaming

Quoting: PhlebiacMy respect for Patreon went up, while my respect for the developers of Persona went down. I'd heard they were good games, but I'm certainly less likely to buy any now.
Yet recently they are censoring people

Going to be interesting how much it ends up in Australia (and NZ and JP and PH)
My guess is AUD$355 , it would want to bundle the old fashioned Atari 2600 joystick aswell

* USA RRP - USD$250
* Into AUD = AUD$318.323
http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=250&From=USD&To=AUD [External Link]
* Add 10% GST (TAX)
=31.83
= AUD$350.16
* Add $5 bucks
AUD$355

Why would you want to ruin Doom by limiting it to joypad only

I really hope these games are native Linux builds and not using a rom emulator

Would be great to see retro Atari stuff listed on PC Steam

Quoting: TheRiddickHmm, well if it has at least a RX560 equivalent GPU chip in it
then it should be a nice middle ground for those who don't want
to spend much and also don't want to detach too far away from PC titles.

I'm going to assume the online component and MP gameplay will be largely
free to access, which would be a good thing.

However there might be some issues getting titles like overwatch running on Linux,
but who knows, maybe it will be able to do it. NOT a 4k gaming console at that price,
but then again, its all about delivering the software correctly in the end.
Linux will be a challenge for them, but MESA is up to snuff and with AMDGPU DRM coming,
it will probably do ok.
Current consoles still cant do proper 1080p high 60fps at the same quality as PC
nor can they do ALL games at proper native 4k

In the latest release of AMD AM4 APU's all seemed rather lackbuster
from the benchmarks Ive seen NONE of them would do Unity/UE4 or
BF1 at LOW 1080p 60fps

It would be nice if the Ataribox used the next set of
AMD AM4 APU's instead of the current consumer stuff

I would like to see SteamMachines take off
