THQ Nordic is one of the Linux friendly publishers. Yet, I don't see the Linux version of Darksider: Genesis anywhere. Is Google pulling any exclusivity garbage requirement?

I remember seeing reports, that some games were broken due to some locales using , instead of . for floating point notation.

It's funny how 64-bit dlls need to be placed in system32, and 32-bit ones in syswow64. MS totally didn't make it confusing.

Quoting: MayeulCIs it now freely available? I tried to obtain it to look up some adaptative sync specificities (DP 1.2a IIRC), but I would have had to shell out $10k

IIRC, HDMI also encapsulates video data in a generic data interface, though I could be wrong on that. 1.4 introduced a data channel (for ARC, CEC, ethernet...)
I think you need to be VESA member to get the documentation for free. Not sure what it means in practice (i.e. how to become a member). I don't think HDMI can replicate the idea of packet design by DP without scrapping their whole previous approach. That's why DP can be put into USB-C/Thunderbolt, but HDMI can't. It's basically a dead end progress wise.

Quoting: EikeDoes this match?
Yes, looks like it's generating DP from HDMI output. I guess they built some kind of processor or controller into the cable, it can't be a simple conversion.

Quoting: tuubiOf course it's possible, but the "active" adapters are much more expensive than DP to HDMI ones.
Last time I looked for one, it wasn't possible. Do you know any examples?

Quoting: TheRiddickI think you can use a HDMI to Displayport dongle?
That's not possible. You can convert DP to HDMI, but not the other way around, due to DP being a lot more complex. That's another reason to prefer DP output everywhere - if needed, you can convert it to every other possible display signal, while the other way around is not going to work.

Quoting: slaapliedjeYeah, unless you want to use this as a cheap computer, why would you need DisplayPort? Not a single game console out there has it.
That's not an excuse to follow the bad practice.
