Quoting: stretch611They don't want to support it.
It's a free game. How much do they "support" Windows version?

What stops the developer from releasing for Linux, if the result is functional anyway?

Quoting: jensMay I suggest to move any DRM-free related discussions to the forum?
Quoting: GuestDRM doesn't have anything to do with it, as far as I'm aware. The titles they port are pretty much Steam exclusives anyway, regardless of platform. Nobody from Feral has ever said "we need DRM before we port" - that's just coming from that they games they do port are on Steam only. Correlation is not causation.
Dedicated thread.

So far my impression is that it's all about DRM with no valid excuse. There are Windows DRM-free releases on GOG that have Feral ports on Steam only. They clearly said that "it's not viable" to release DRM-free (whatever that means). See the linked thread above.

So I agree with @Dedale, CP2077 is completely unlikely to be ported by Feral because of that. Until they'll reverse their stance on GOG and other DRM-free stores releases, there is no point to suggest specific DRM-free games for them.

Plus it's DRM-free unlike the other one :)

DRM-free games. Feral still fail to release even a single one.

Quoting: SolitaryHint: GOG was not the only store that sells the game. People can still buy the game.
I'm obviously talking about DRM-free option. Which other store sells it? I haven't seen one. So no, you can't buy the game.

If you are implying that was the intention of developers to begin with (to push users to DRM), it only strengthens the assumption, that it was a bad, anti-user move.

Quoting: SolitaryYou can think what you want, but you can still buy the game... so it really doesn't.
Not sure what you mean. The whole point is that you can't buy the game, it was only left there for those who already bought it.

Good. I hope they'll stay on itch.io, instead of pulling Valheim and Co. by stopping updates and directing their users to Steam.

Quoting: LeopardYet you entitled it with "Another Steam exclusive attitude it seems"
Because it's exactly how it looks. And exclusivity here is driven by developers.

Whatever solution it was, it remains weird, because developers didn't explain it.
