Quoting: pop2010First was that "mistake" made by Valve about the announcement of The Witcher 3 on SteamOS. Who creates a banner that is wrong? You can't make such confusion twice in a row. It was clearly arranged, but later they hit some problems.
The only explanation to me is that they signed some agreements for a launch, but there was some confusion.

And by the way, I tried to get information about Cyberpunk 2077 development (whether they plan Linux release or if they use Vulkan and etc.) but got nothing so far.

Quoting: ElectricPrismI say good on them for communicating with our crazy asses.Yep, my point exactly. Their communication is very poor to begin with, so them acknowledging that they can't answer the question is something.

Quoting: liamdaweIn addition, you may think it is rude, but it's business. They don't have to give a reply to me or anyone technically when personally emailed, it's their choice. It's common to ignore, yes, but it doesn't make it less rude. Of course it can happen some are bombarded with huge amount of e-mails and simply can't answer them all. But more than often, the approach of legacy media is to ignore individuals by design. CDPR claim they on purpose don't want to be like that (that's why they reply I assume). But their avoidance of communicating anything essential negates that anyway.

More interesting can be the reasons why they can't answer. Some suggested it could be related to stock market regulation in Poland. CDPR is a public company, and falls under scrutiny from the stock regulators. At one point they came under fire for publishing certain information prematurely, and were blamed for manipulating their stock price:

Who knows how their regulators work, but they can easily claim that publishing any plans in advance is an attempt to manipulate stocks price. After such threats it's easily can cause the company to forbid any kind of communication about their work in progress and plans.
There is also another point. CDPR are required to give answers to their shareholders. So may be some Linux users can buy some of their stocks and then ask questions on shareholder meetings or shareholders forum:

Strangely no one asked such questions on those meetings before.

It does beg the question though: why reply at all when you're essentially saying nothing?Because not replying is rude. And if they can't give you an answer (for whatever reason), it's better to confirm that they have nothing to say "at this point" instead of ignoring.

Sadly it looks like Shadow Warrior 2 won't be a day-1 Linux release

Interestingly, GOG are most careful about listing supported OSes. Unless Linux is really confirmed on day one, they don't list it in the upcoming game tab as supported OS.

Quoting: hoolapararayahoocoukSo to summarise, there may or may not be a linux version of Witcher 3, which may or may not be in development and may or may not be released sometime that may or may not be in the future?Yep, pretty much nothing new here ;) Personally, I'm looking forward to Wine supporting it. But I wouldn't mind if some wrapper version will appear as well. Native one is highly unlikely either way.

As they said, their main effort for Galaxy now goes into the libraries used by developers, rather than the client for users. What's strange is that they are so slow in making those available for Linux as well.

Quoting: BeamboomThey are not even located in the same country: GOG offices are located in Cyprus, while CD Projekt is in Poland. No, that's incorrect. GOG offices are located in Warsaw. Cyprus is listed for some legal reasons - no idea why exactly.
