GOG took their sweet time adding it (according to the developer, he submitted the game a long time ago), but I'm glad it's there now.

Windows backward compatibility is also a myth. A lot of old Windows code works much better in Wine than on actual modern day Windows OS.

Quoting: JudasIscariotFor me, as someone who likes to play games on Linux, I'd love to be able to just git pull the source + assets and compile everything so that a given game is more or less better installed on my system. The reason I say this is because I git pull the latest builds of Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, compile, and I have no issues with the game using a 32-bit library on a 64-bit system or anything like that. Plus updating is simple: git pull, make clean, make TILES=1 NATIVE=linux64 RELEASE=1 and my game is updated cleanly and simply.Good to see you building stuff from source :D

A lot of points to disagree with.
* Fragmentation bogeyman is commonly overstated.
* Linux is not an "enthusiast OS" (it sounded like it's some kind of hobby project still). It is a fully professional OS.
* There is no need to respect bad status quo. A lot of it is caused by stupid FUD, not by any valid reasons.
* FOSS is not incompatible with selling products - it's a common fallacy. One can even sell fully open games, though it's not as easy to make viable. A common advice for those who want to respect FOSS better is to make the engine fully open and keep artistic assets private.
* Switching to SteamOS and using Steam isn't going to help any more than simply buying same Linux games from competitors (like GOG and HB). Supporting DRM is a problem on its own.

Congratulations, and thanks for your dedication Liam! I was worried when you announced that you are leaving the effort earlier, but it's good that you are back.

They just replied that PayPal funding is planned, so Linux users will have more time to back the project:
We do plan to continue with Paypal funding. We're likely to set this up next week. And yes, all funds through Paypal will contribute to the stretch goals, at least for a couple of months :) If we pass our existing stretch goals, we'll also come up with more.

Quoting: michaBtw. does anybody understand what comes next after: "The Germans aren't animals you know. They just wanted to make sure we stay quiet.." ? (starts at ~2:10 in the YouTube version) Totally curious but none of the friends I asked so far is really certain..It's something from the plot, but they didn't talk much about the story, since it would be a spoiler. I guess we'll have to wait until the release to find out.

Quoting: liamdaweCheers, fixed. Thanks! I hope they'll also set up some post-Kickstarter funding period, since Linux and OS X support was announced so late in the campaign. Lot's of potential backers can simply miss it.
