Quoting: TheRiddickI think RT with AMD cards atm if it doesn't STACK your entire computer, only delivers very low double digit framerates. I tried it a while back on my 6800xt but kept getting a entire system crash!Radv didn't implement all needed ray tracing extensions yet (VK_KHR_ray_query is missing). Plus what is implemented is just first revision and isn't optimized. And AMD's ray tracing ASICs in their cards are first iteration too, so overall, both software and hardware have room to improve by a lot.

Personally as someone who is interested in DRM-free games anway, MS swallowing something means - no more games from such developers. In case of Activision-Blizzard it's irrelevant (might affect their older games though?), but MS also swallowed companies like inXile, Obsidian and others. So it's like a black hole that just sucks everything in. Good stuff, garbage, whatever. And nothing comes out.

I don't care for Blizzard, but I agree it's a very bad trend that MS just gobbles gaming companies. And Spencer is probably the reason MS is using DX12 today instead of Vulkan. So I consider MS as pretty hostile to Linux gaming in general.

I think all of them are building new ones. TSMC, Samsung and Intel. At least the new TSMC one is expected to launch in 2022.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyThis shortage stuff has been lasting rather a long time now. I'm finding myself wondering if it's really about all the original causes any more, or if the situation brought it to the attention of certain corporations that they are an oligopoly and constraining supply some is collectively making them gigabucks in windfall profits. From what I understand, building new factories is a long process and they'll be only ready by the end of this year to address the disbalance in demand and supply.

Inspired by The Classics
Call of Saregnar is greatly inspired by the classic RPG Betrayal at Krondor, while also taking hints from Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall, Might & Magic VI, RoA: Star Trail and other titles of the ’90s.

The way I understood it that chip itself requires firmware and only MS will provide updates for it? Unless I mixed up something. But if that's correct, it already sounds messed up to me.

Some messed up details here: https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2022/01/pluton-microsofts-new-security-chip-will-finally-be-put-to-the-test/ [External Link]
Pluton will also be responsible for automatically delivering firmware updates through the Windows Update. By tightly integrating hardware and software, Microsoft expects Pluton to seamlessly install security patches as needed.Yeah, and how is that supposed to work on Linux?

Quoting: F.UltraSo this is basically TPM3.0 but with a new fancy name.I see. Then I guess in theory it shouldn't be better or worse than current TPMs Linux wise.
