Not sure why you wouldn't want to sell your game on Steam, as it's the biggest store around.
If I were a developer I should think it won't be a problem.

But as an user I am, (and an anti-DRM one), this concerns me.
You say that : it's the biggest store of PC gaming by digital distribution.

Which means that if they grow a bit more enogh, they could turn into a monopoly.

Quoting: IvancilloThe last place (but not unmeritorious for that) is for GOG.com, which was very reticent to give Linux support.
I think that the exit of The Enigmatic T took part in that change.
Can you elaborate on the latter part?
I want this to be clear; I can't elaborate a real version because I haven't been in GoG's offices nor in Poland in my life.

I do neither met TeT nor anyone from GoG.

I'm a guy that only knows what could learn reading on the net. And there's nothing about this stuff on the net.

No, what I said it's just my personal theory.

If you remember, it was just after TeT exited GoG.com when they announce they were working on giving Linux support. I think it's not a mere coincidence.

And do you remember the article on this site where TeT entered to answer our questions?

It seemd to me that he personally dislike Linux.
Don't know exactly why. It's not an exact thing. His answers didn't convince us.

Again, my personal theory.

Quoting: GuestLinux gaming existed before Valve, before the Humble Bundles, and before either was ever even an idea. With all due respect to Valve and their efforts (which have been a lot), they didn't create a market - they took it over, have increased it, but they never created it. The ball was rolling long before then.
It seems that so many think any kind of Linux gaming is reliant entirely on Valve and the success of Steam Machines. It's not.
[...]

So if Linux gaming isn't a replica of how things are done for Windows - does it really matter? By any other metric, Linux gaming is already a success and it's only growing.
I think more or less the same way as you.

In fact, I give more credit to HumbleIndieBundle and crowfunding goals for the increasing interest of the developers on Linux ports than to Valve.

It was clear for me at the time HumbleBundle started.

Valve saw the same and bet for Linux. Which is OK and contributed even more to the success with its influence on market and with the Steamworks port for Linux.

The last place (but not inmeritorious for that) is for GoG.com, which was very reticent to give Linux support.
I think that the exit of The Enigmatic T took part in that change.

An Update On The Open Source Project 'Xoreos' Concerning Jade Empire

Hello.

I saw the work you are doing, Sven.

Seems a lot of reverse engineering.

I want to learn a bit about it.

In a tutorial that I'm following, I was told to use [EDB](https://code.google.com/p/edb-debugger/) as it's similar to OllyDBG.

And I see you are using IDA.

How much good it is? Which is better?

An Update On The Open Source Xoreos Project For Neverwinter Nights 2

Quoting: DrMcCoyYes, The Witcher is a potential target. Right now, xoreos can read the textures, play music and sound, and read static geometry from the models of The Witcher.
Good to read that!

Will Xoreos run The Witcher 1? (I think this one it's an Aurora Engine game too).

If so, maybe the TW1 on Xoreos would be the unique and genuine native port this game will have.

Linux Kernel Bug Being Fixed Thanks To Linus Torvalds & The Witcher 2

This brings me to some other thoughts, is eON really that bad? I'm not sure any more, as previously we were annoyed at the release quality (which was utterly terrible), and eventually eON was polished enough to be nearly playable on a 560ti (and very playable on a 970).
In GoG.com say GTX 260 at the recomended requirements to run the game on Windows.

A bit far from 970 I can tell.

Does this kernel and game patches raise the performance?

STAR WARS: DARK FORCES, Now On Linux Thanks To GOG

Quoting: DrMcCoyAlso, this means there's now an easy DRM-free source for Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords [External Link], in case people want to get it to help with xoreos [External Link]. *hinthint* :P
*hinthint* indeed! Neverwinter Nights (I clicked on the link, you sneaky devil) has had a native Linux client since 2003(!), and a client that still works (try that with a game written for WinXP without some serious tweaking under Win7 or (God help us) Win8.)

Purchasing NWN Diamond  from GOG and installing the Linux client is much harder than installing it from the DVD (I've done both). It would be terrific if GOG would make the Linux-client NWN available, either as the usual tar.gz file or as a .deb (Red Hat derivative users can use alias the same way Debian derivative users do). It would make one of the very first (if not the first) commercial games to support Linux easily installable by we (superior OS :D ) Linux users.

Also, any DOS game (for Windows, OSX, or Linux) sold by GOG does use DOSBox...
Then maybe you should consider voting this :
