Respect to icculus for sure, but I just want to shout out to the Overload developers, who also just finished an amazing 6DoF game, in the spirit of Descent. Maybe because of the long early access that it had, but I have not heard as much excitement as I expected, for such a great game.

Language learning game Lingotopia to release on August 16th with Linux support

As someone who had struggled with learning languages but enjoys exploration game, I really love this game idea. I think there is so much more millage left in making fun games that also educate. I learned so much - and still remember - about battlefield triage from playing America's Army, which was a first person shooter that was developed by the same name.I had to attend virtual classes to unlock the medic.

Steam Summer Sale is up, free game from Humble Store & Fanatical sale too

Most of the four hundred wishlist items are on sale, with lots of 75%+ discounts. I plan on dropping a lot of cash on this sale.
I picked up Knock, Knock for two dollars, and that spooky adventure game looks pretty good so far!
Some bigger names that I will be picking up are Turok, Everspace, Transistor, and Shadow Warrior, which are all 75% off.

XENONAUTS 2 hit Kickstarter and it's already funded, hopefully coming to Linux

This developer did such a bad job with the linux version of their first game, that I could not imagine ever buying another game from them. They contracted out the linux build, so that one version could be released, and they continue selling that old version on steam. When I complained about the bugs, I was told to get the windows version and play through WINE. I was well past the two week return limit, and now I feel like I got ripped off.

I recommend the open and no-cost game OpenXcom or the game UFO: Alien Invasion. Both are excellent spiritual successors of the original XCOM game.

Valve seem to be tightening their rules on games with sexual content

So yeah, let's put responsability where it belongs
Following the link that YOU provided brought me to their article specifically citing a response to the Metoo movement, as the reason for Valve's announcement. But why argue about it, anyway?

Valve seem to be tightening their rules on games with sexual content

This is a result of the metoo movement. This isn't coming from a cabal puritanical guys, as guessed by some of the comments, but a reaction to outspoken women agitators. I am fine with the censorship, but let's make sure we put the responsibility for the changes where it belongs.

Drilling wells and selling oil, some thoughts on Turmoil and its DLC

I found the game developer to be very attentive to my problem running Turmoil with AMD radeon mesa drivers. Check out Gamious' responses in this Steam Forum message thread. [External Link]
I like Turmoil. It is not a game that I play all night, but I enjoy the challenge of maximizing my profits on a largely unknown map. The daily challenges are great. Of course, I also loved Steamworld Dig games, too. The game may seem repetitive, but I think the decisions on whether to branch out your existing pipes, explore and dig in a new area, or hold off until the end of year, make each game a new challenge. Once you get into levels with huge rocks that are expensive to go through or circumvent, then the financial calculation gets really interesting.

Can you hear that? It's the Steam sales train and it's arrived, also Steam Wishlist revamp

Am enjoying your articles, as I get back into pc gaming with my ubuntu 16.04 gaming rig.. keep up the good work!
