Every Linux distro I've ever used never had a problem with any game. I've found myself to be very content using Arch Linux however, so I am sticking to that for awhile. Great post! I've been doing the same myself lately, and got my brother more so into the smiling penguin than before! His APU even works better on Linux... lol.

The Witcher 2 seems to run okay for me. The community has a lot of rude people though, insulting my hardware just because I said I couldn't run it well. Turns out the problem was that I had UberSampling, unbeknownst to me, enabled, causing my frame drops. Putting it on the "High" spec preset crashes the game, so I have a custom one enabled with all options save for UberSampling. Runs decently enough but the voices seem off and they don't seem to move their mouths much. I'm gonna record a video of it later and post it here and see what you guys think of it.

So I bought it and forgot about the black lines and was surprised to see them. Anyway, I am glad to see it's not my card but the game. Damn. The demo worked fine too.

I'd say the main reason for worrying is that actual preorder pages don't say anything about Linux at all.

There were games before without the Linux icon (Metro Last Light) that had Linux versions, but I am surprised to see no "SteamOS" announcements on the preorder page.
