Quoting: ShmerlI don't know. The fact that the ad went down is really weird. I see multiple websites supporting the fact that they saw the ad, and if Valve removed it for being a prank than we would know. Maybe CD Red decided they weren't ready for a Linux port yet? Or something else is going on. I've seen games for sale without Linux versions before. (Metro Last Light in the beginning) so I am not sure what to make of this. I'll wait for a more definite word from one of the two although that seemed pretty definite to me.Quoting: GNUzelWhy not? Pranksters can come up with weird ideas. Valve would have commented on such prank however. The whole thing looks somewhat weird.Quoting: ShmerlI also start wondering whether the whole thing was a prank of someone who hacked Steam's front page :) Since there was no official announcement from either Valve or CD Projket Red. And actual Steam preorder page doesn't list Linux at all.Oddly enough, the ad isn't there anymore. I couldn't imagine someone doing it as a joke though.

I need to play the Witcher 2 before I can buy this one but I am kind of excited to see it. I am considering the collector's edition but I am not sure how that'll fit in with buying it for Linux. Would I be able to use the game assets from the DVD with a Linux binary or something? ... Hmm.

The game is broken for those using the proprietary Nvidia driver. I am experiencing from this on my Nvidia 690.
The game barely runs on my AMD 8550G with a lot of lag. (APU)
Gonna try it on my Intel 4000 HD in a minute.

I already did the Twitter thing and a big Steam forum but I am posting here too.
+1 for Linux Borderlands. Will buy all DLC and a copy or two for my friends since I already (regrettably) bought a Windows version back when I actually used Windows.

Quoting: GuestI was mostly concerned about the developers and the revenue Linux gaming produces but since I have no job, and $1 is all I really can afford, I will buy it then.Quoting: GNUzelIs it right to buy a game for only a $1..?What's right or wrong in capitalism? Those are some morals you're going to need to work out for yourself lol. I would guess that the developers have already been paid for this game, and that the money they have gotten so far has been enough. Aside from the question of do they need/deserve the money, there is the question of can you afford it, too. If you can't really afford something you should donate a smaller amount, or pirate it. $1 is pretty affordable though, at least for me. ^n.n^

I say we use this page on the Internet as the beacon that shows Linux users' interest. I would buy that game immediately if I saw it released for Linux. Just like I am buying Goat Simulator the moment the Linux one is for sale.
