I still have the second one unpacked. I don't remember if there were batteries included, I wouldn't want them to spill and flood it. On the other hand, I don't feel like opening it now.

Quoting: Craggles086I did the same :DQuoting: rainbowtvzI did a panic and bought a second one just before they pulled it from sale. :)Quoting: Craggles086No question, will buy.lucky you, having two. i had one, it was my best controller. my dad broke the usb in half transporting my tower while evacuating for a huge fire. and i couldn't just get a new one since they stopped making them....
My two Steam Controller 1’s getting a bit old.
Hoping some of the games that dropped Steam Controller support after Valve said the first one was on its last day’s bring it back.
While Steam Input is handy mapping things to the thumb pad. Gets so tedious doing it for every single game.
in hindsight i shouldnt have left it plugged in but i also didn't expect him to set heavy shit on top of my tower haha.
You can probably pick one up on eBay / Amazon in reasonable nick, but you could be paying more then Steam Controller 2 retail price will be.

I hope the touchpads are round, not square. I don't know how it looks on Steamdeck, but it seems to me that a round, slightly concave touchpad is more natural for even movement in every direction. Just like the first version had. Personally, I don't need the right analog stick, so it could be gone. The greatest strength of this controller is replacing this stick with its touch counterpart.
Additionally, four buttons under the pad (that's pretty much certain). Triggers similar to those on PS5 would also be welcome.
If we're talking about software, they could finally allow for proper text formatting in the description for controller settings. You can't even make a new line there!

Quoting: STiATNo, they didn't fix it, quite the opposite. After installing the drivers, on Wayland I have a black screen, with a few artifacts. Only the cursor is visible. I don't know what they're doing there at NVidia, but it's a bit embarrassing.Quoting: bialyikarI wonder if they fixed the hopeless flashing of application elements or entire windows? No idea yet, fedora didn't get it yet. But that made me actually switch back to NVK for a while. And I was surprised that I found it running more games which had issues in in DX11 in 24.1.x (KC:D and some others which were slide-shows) with the 24.2.x drivers. Though, DX12 games still mostly don't work for me or still are slide shows, that maybe will change over the next year or so though.
Can I install from some repo?

It's great that something new is coming out, dedicated to Stream, but... no touchpads... so no. We're waiting for SteamController 2 :)

It would be great if Decky Loader worked on PC, in normal mode (not just Big Picture).
I used to use it on PC, but since Steam overlay works in normal mode now, and I don't have to switch to Big Picture mode every time, I stopped using Decky Loader. And there were a few plugins I used.
