Uno Calculator has added telemetry not present in the Microsoft source code. That's a plenty good reason not to use it.

This is great to see, but does anyone know of anything similar for the original Unreal or UT2004?

Quoting: KimyrielleIf I am not totally mistaken, that's because AMD doesn't have a competitive on-board GPU solution. It also is not considered a force for dedicated mobile GPUs. Intel still kinda has a monopoly on that. Which is why nobody considers AMD for building a laptop, still.
This is outdated information. AMD has the best onboard graphics available. Their onboard Vega 11 GPU is quite a bit faster than even a dedicated GT 1030 or Nvidia's MX250 dedicated laptop GPU.

Even in growing communities, standalone blogs like this have been facing big challenges for years.

This is the only blog I check on a regular basis, and that's down to Liam doing an exceptional job every single day.

Great game, but be warned that the native Linux version has never received the patches pushed to the Windows version.

There are some potentially game-breaking bugs, no settings menu, missing graphical enhancements, and more.

If you own this game please submit a report about the Linux version's missing patches here at the publisher's bug reporting page. [External Link]

For now, I'm playing the updated version in Proton.

This game looks great, but the Linux version comes off very rough at this early stage for the reasons mentioned. What they need is more Linux testers and to consult someone wtih experience in Linux development.

The crashes are caused by voice triggering and can be avoided by pressing T to change the speech mode to text only.

These are great games but always launch incredibly rough. X3 wasn't truly good until patch 4.0 shipped a few years after release. I don't mind waiting a little longer.

I'm glad Egosoft continues to support Linux, and supports all their games for the long term.

This is good news to me, since I had no idea they were planning to support Linux. That said, I won't put down the money until a native version arrives. I opted not to buy it during the last sale for exactly that reason.

Quoting: KonA downward trend driven by China is still a downward trend. Yet another reason to improve input method integration in Linux desktops.

Buggy word processing in your native language is a non-starter for any computer system, even one distributed at no cost.
Let's be honest about something, Windows is also native-language only on the surface, when you start messing around with settings and registry everything is in English and that is the same for majority of operating systems, there's just no way any OS can rewrite everything from scratch in all the languages.

I find Linux to be completely compatible with my native language, not sure about Chinese.
Do you need to install and configure "optional" components like ibus or fcitx to write in your language? IME integration is very poor and even when properly configured can cause conflicts and crashes with the DE.

Documentation and translation for non-European languages can also use some work. But even then, what good is it to read the system documentation if you can't write an email to your friends and family?
