If you like this news, maybe you should drop some love at this steam thread, it's kinda littered with hate and rude demands to the developers.

I'm totally getting this on day one. I just hope it's a few months away from X4 on Linux, since I want to play both.

Quoting: theghostAccording to the Steam reviews the game is pretty decent, what scares me are the graphics.Game is fun, graphics are pixely and blocky, but not ugly.
Someone played this ?

It's a very cool game, if you like building and RTS. I've had it since a while back. It runs on Java (so that's why it's easy to package for Linux), it even lets you choose between packed in java or system Java.
It runs great on low specs computers, so if you want something for your laptop, give this title a try.

I really need to make a "in soviet russia" joke with this and Wastelands/Fallout, but I come up with nothing.
What are you playing this weekend and what do you think about it?

I just got Wizards and Warlords and spite it being on a very early stage, I'm all over it. Deep fantasy 4X, with more micromanaging that you can dream of.
Also, I started playing Tahira, had it on my library for months with out touching it, and I'll probably play an hour or 2 of that as well.

Quoting: theghostI would not back if the developer just "hopes to get Mac/Linux versions".I love JA2, I also liked a lot 7.62 High Caliber, which is a homage of sorts to JA. JA had a lot more tactical options than XCOM or Xenonauts, such as prone, crawling, moving while crouching, AP cost for changing the direction the unit is looking. Might look the same, but a JA sequel that follows up to JA 1 or 2 might not be an easy task.
But what's more important, the developer said that they might bring a new Jagged Alliance after Xenonauts 2.
At least they have the correct graphical representation for it based on Unity.
Their screenshots of Xenonauts 2 remind me so much of Jagged Alliance 2.
I think it would not need too much effort to make a Jagged Alliance remake based on that.

LOL, I was one of the persons pestering Liam about the Kickstarter. Good thing it got funded. Unity3D is a cool engine, but I really liked the 2D aspect of the original Xenonauts. That's a minus on my book.
Also, I know about the devs no longer updating the Linux port (read it here on GoL), that's a shame, but Unity3D will make supporting a Linux version all that easier.
Looking forward to kill those pesky aliens.
