I love it. Been using it to play Vampire Bloodlines recently which it works well for, but it really excels with other types of games. I haven't touched my xbox controller since i got it.

The first one is great. With OpenTTD being so popular (and still a great timesink) it wasn't easy to create a modern adaptation that really stands tall against it, but Fever managed it.
You can now easily run the Epic Store on Linux with Lutris, Epic suggests applying for a grant

A big concern right now is that Valve may have to scale back spending on their non-store related projects so that they can focus on seeing off the competition from Epic. I expect that they are deep enough into Linux now as to make that a secure part of their future, but I'd be disappointed if they stopped working on their hardware too.
To play devils advocate on the exclusivity issue, there aren't many ways for Epic to establish themselves as a viable competition to Steam right now, and their fortnite money will only last so long. It is an abhorrent anti-consumer practice for sure but we will have to wait and see whether it is a sign of how they will act in the long term, once fully established. One hopes (without any reason for hoping this) that exclusivity is a temporary measure.

Quoting: g000hI've gone through...I share your views on this. This whole epic store debacle had an extra bite for Linux users as Steam is in-arguably the better store for us, and that just isn't going to change anytime soon. Proton is fantastic. Even if Epic came out with a native Linux store, without proton our options become very limited. Of course the excellent people working on Lutris gives us a nice easy way to avoid that issue.

Risk of Rain 2 works very nicely on Linux thanks to Steam Play, it's also pretty crazy

The music in this game is entrancing. At least in the video linked in the article. The muted gunshots seem to complement it rather than work against it too. It looks pretty good.
I actually just got done re-arranging my partitions without a windows partition for the first time ever (i think), all thanks to steam play. Which just keeps getting better it seems.

What have you been playing recently and what do you think of it?

I've been utilising the brilliance of wine to play guild wars 2 as my main mmo, and elite dangerous to participate in the distant worlds 2 expedition. Notable native games i've been playing are two point hospital, which really manages to capture the theme hospital vibe with some neat additions, and transport fever which really manages to capture that transport tycoon vibe with some neat additions.
If you'd asked a couple of weeks ago i would have said that i am finally getting baldurs gate 2 completed. It's still not completed.

It would have to be pretty good to beat TripleA at this point. I'd be happy if they manage it though.

Quoting: BrisseAnyone else nominated Feral Interactive for best developer in the Steam awards? ^_^I did! I was struggling to think of a dev that deserved it but then I remembered Feral's launcher. You get to choose which screen to play on. This is the best launcher feature ever.

I took a screenshot of a zoomed in version of the picture and am now pretty certain that I have no idea what it is.
There are palm trees and there are strange ancient glyphs/art chiselled in to stone. I suppose it could somehow be Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

I'm wishing I hadn't watched Brian Lunduke's most recent 'Linux Sucks' now. I'd have probably taken this news a little better if not. I really really hope that the days of 'Embrace, Extend, Extinguish' are over, but having MS saying they love Linux isn't really enough to put that to bed.
On the bright side, MS money put into these developers could be good for story-rich rpg gaming.

Quoting: adwamslayerI've finally been able to compose myself and play Anmesia: The Dark Descent. I think I got it on sale or in a humble bundle a fair while ago. Now i'm into it, i'm quite enjoying it due to the atmosphere and story. Just wish I played it sooner!Amnesia still remains unplayed for me, as does nearly every other horror game i somehow own. All except SOMA which i picked up in the current humble bundle. I'm too much of a wimp to play it once it goes dark though, so I've managed 5 hours only so far.
I can recommend it if you're braver than me.
