the podcast will eventually be on Stitcher. We have to have some stat information to give before we can get approved to get on.

Quoting: jakejw93Interesting. What times/dates do you do these podcasts? And what would one have to do to get involved?

The podcasts are currently recorded twice a month on saturday night/sunday morning usually at either 10 pm or 12 am UTC. As far as being on them a decent mic and willingness to be recorded is all that is really needed.

Quoting: dklumpI'm interested in this. I've kinda been looking to get into some streaming anyway. Is there going to be an application process?
Is there going to be an application process? No, there is no application process per say, just as long as you are passionate about games. However, being an active Linux user also helps! Will there be some type of vetting process?Yes, there will be. As obviously, we need two co-hosts and we will need one or two people that we can sub in as necessary. A lot of factors will come into play when making those choices.

Quoting: BeamboomI'd really love to join such an initiative, I even got many years worth of broadcast experience, but English is not my native language so that'd be too much of a hindrance. :(
I think it would actually be interesting to have people from different countries and backgrounds; this site has an international community, why not represent that. Unless of course you feel you'd have trouble following a conversation in English at all.
But I'm biased of course since I'm not a native speaker either. :)
Quoting: Segata SanshiroI'd be up for it with episodes relating to the kinds of games I like (strategy, point-and-click, simulation and story-rich games). Essentially though anything FPS or sports-related though I'm just going to end up tearing a new one, which could be comical but will probably just cause controversy.

OK with being on mic, but I'd feel a bit weird about the camera.
Again, The camera is not a requirement just a nice to have should we ever decide to livestream the show when we record, for things like audience participation etc. I would love to have you on I always love hearing about genres people either do or do not like etc. I find differences in gaming taste makes people look at games they normally may not have.

As far as the international representation. I am all for the idea! English speaking is a necessity, as well we all need to be able to understand what the others are saying.

Quoting: TheBossI think requiring a camera will put a certain amount of people off, so we probably should leave that out.

Having Cheese on board to help out (even if it's just at the start) would probably help things along a good bit.
Camera not so much a requirement as a nice to have incase we ever decide to do a livestream of the show with some audience participation etc. But definitely not a requirement. And cheese would love to have you on! I've been doing podcasting on and off myself as well for the last 5 years or so.

The camera part is more about if we decide to livestream the show.
