Linux gaming overlay MangoHud version 0.5.1 released

Quoting: UsualAny way to show only the RAM the game is using instead of overall?
mangohud and system monitor show different ram usage. if this would be correct you could remember the ram usage before you start the game and do the math

Quoting: scaineI wonder if this will ever get deb/ppa support. I'm just not a fan of "locally" (i.e. non-managed) installed software. Such a cool project too.
maybe you should switch to manjaro. mangohud and a lot of other software is in AUR

Love Ubuntu but want the latest KDE Plasma? KDE neon now sits atop Ubuntu 20.04

If I wasn't so rooted in Manjaro KDE, I think KDE neon would be what I would go for if I needed to do a fresh install.
rolling release > all
also AUR

and they have FSYNC in kernel 5.7, which you can easily install with the kernel manager.... you dont need a lot of ppas for mesa, kernel, ukuu, etc and mayor updates that may break something

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoBorderlands 3 FREE WEEKEND..... On my Windows 10 machine, because via PROTON doesn't work properly yet.
I haven't played BL3 since April, but I have about 57 hours into it, all played using Proton. I wonder if there was a code regression.
his PC info says 4core CPU. maybe too slow for B3
imho B3 is very very bad optimized for its graphic. ive seen games with more realistic graphics performe much better

ohhh and i had to switch to DX11, because VkD3D is very buggy... it froze my PC twice. with DXVK i hadnt any issuse in 2h

Quoting: mylkawhen are they going to add some countries?
even nvidia now supports whole europoe
All suppositions from my part, but Google is extending its cloud regions to the central/east Europe, and is pretty close to open a data/compute/etc center in Warsaw, which is planned to be ready at the beginning of 2021.
So I suppose/hope this means new European countries added to the list and potential better latency. I'm currently using Stadia from a server (most likely) in Frankfurt, which is 1456 Km away from me, with a latency of 30ms. Warsaw is "only" 945 Km away, so, that'd be great.
GFN is also based in frankfurt (around 700km away from where i live), which works for me just fine, so i dont get it why i cant use stadia
their rigs are more or less in the same building, using the same internet connection, but i only allowed to use GFN
What do you mean you can't use Stadia, can't make an account?
it is not available in my country and i dont get why cause gfn works just fine

Quoting: LinuxwarperFree weekend seems more appropriate for Stadia than local stores. Imagine installing a 30 GB game, waiting a while for install, only to remove it a day or two later.
id say streaming is perfect for DEMOs in general
but also games like hitman2.... with the legacy pack it has around 110GB

Quoting: TheRiddickMaybe valve can get some push going on NVIDIA working under Wayland? surely there is a way to do it without a whole new driver?

PS. Gabe is currently in New Zealand and has lost quite a bit of weight!
nvidia is closed sourced. nvidia doesnt even care about linus saying FY NVIDIA

i dont think anybody can tell them what to do. just make sure to get AMD next time

i understand it for cyberpunk or other huge open world games, but a pixel style point and click.... i dont know... doesnt seem to by very economically
If you're sticking to one style, the knowledge and control of the codebase a custom engine gives you tends to outweigh the flexibility of a general-purpose one.
he makes 2D pixel art games. how flexible do you have to be for that?
if you need special water effects, or physics, or lightning, or trees... anything..... i would understand

but why all the work for
