Supergiant Games is turning ten years old, big sale on their games and HADES is heading to Steam

I doubt this stuff is even allowed, I don't think it was advertised as being unfinished in the Epic Store? With all the hate towards to the store with the exclusive bullshit, they did this one top. It seems they took the deal solely for the money. Nothing else. But with all this money they already got, they still need more to finish the game.
This doesn't give me confidence of them being a good developer or the willingness to play their game. And it bothers me even more you don't see the issue at all. But you are not alone. Sadly.

Quoting: Liam DaweI don't get the issue? It's no different than any other game entering Early Access. They took the deal for the extra cash and they still need more to finish development? They sold an unfinished game on the Epic store to begin with and the extra money they got by going exclusive wasn't enough to fund to finish it. So they are going to release it with Early Access. They are admitting this way their game is not finished this way.

They have been on Epic store for ~9 months now and after their exclusivity deal wears off they going to release with Early Access on Steam? What the hell is wrong with game development nowadays?! A lot, I tell you. I like my indie developers as much as you do, and I fully realize they need to earn their keep, but this smells. There is something called integrity and I don't see it here.

There are two giant reasons why I don't need or want this: latency & DRM.
No thanks.

Ow, these exclusives games in the Epic store... I will never buy something there. I already hate Steam's exclusives because of their integrations in the games.
This is all so anti-consumer. And the developers and publishers try to spin it is something good for us. It's disgusting.

I talked to one of the developer at Gamescom for a short time. The game's art style actually stood out from the rest of the entire indie hall.
We weren't able to play, all he did was looping a trailer. The same one above actually.
He was very kind and we had a nice small chat. He also had realistic expectations. He told me they were going to release through Early Access and did not give me any ETA on when that would start. They don't have any choice since they are just a small and new developer.
Keeping this game on my radar for sure.

Slowly that itching feeling continues I need to start finding a new hobby. Gaming is not what it used to be.

I play this little gem from time to time. I just finished another map. Once I'm at the point that the only thing left is to expand the city I normally end the map. The naval update added quite a bit of gameplay.
This update adds even more interesting things, so I definitely will check it out. The rival AI kingdom update sounds really good. Didn't know about that being planned.

Another survival game in Early Access. Can't even recall the amount of them anymore and still waiting for a decent one to be actually released. Hard pass.
