I have to admit my favourite was MoO3. I loved how the game provided large scale policy tools that allowed you to rule scores of planets without micromanaging them. Unfortunately, the game had plenty of bugs, but I managed to spend hundreds of hours with it nonetheless. Too bad the UI feels hopelessly outdated today.

Quoting: Stupendous Man28€ with the content pack included? Thanks but no thanks. And I thought the earlier DLCs were expensive (I never bought Common Sense).Come on, we all know it will be 50% off in two or three months at max! :D
Don't get me wrong, I like both EU4 and CK2 and don't mind buying DLCs with lots of content. However, in my opinion Paradox's DLCs have too little content and get released a little too often, at too high a price. All just IMHO, of course.

Quoting: BeamboomIt's kinda sad that our platform is so tiny, so insignificant, that they just give a build away cause they can't be bothered with it. It stings.I suppose this build is more like a "public beta" and that they are just experimenting with it. If the experiment is successful, I believe they are going to release officially in the near future.

I don't believe many people are going to remove SteamOS from them. Most people just want to plug and play and that's the big feature of Steam Machines, that they are a system ready to use. Else you could just get yourself a PC. :P
The fact that SteamOS on those boxes should be self-updating as well and so requiring no maintenance whatsoever is a big plus, especially for the large crowd who appreciates consoles and that just wants to play, without wasting time messing with PC's. The games selection for SteamOS is quite large too.

They have invested millions in Steam OS, plus a big part of their reputation. If they want to be sure that it is a success they have to provide a big exclusive.
Besides, as long as windows is around we are going to have problems.

Quoting: LukeNukemMan, I hope to hell that it becomes a Linux exclusive. That would seriously get a lot of knickers in twists.+1 for that.

Looking at the bare numbers is bound to be hugely misleading. Dota2 runs on GNU while "Zombie Bowl-o-Rama" is Windows only. They both count as "one game" as far as bare numbers go but of course you don't need me to tell what the difference is.
You correctly noted that "What I do like to see though, is that 7 out of 10 of the highest rated games on Steam are available for Linux".
Now try to go a step further and weight games by actual players. You are going to find a big surprise.
