Quoting: DeformalI listented it. And I found, that your position is inconsistent. But since you can read the source code of GNU programs and modify them however you wish, it follows up that obviously GNU==Freedom.
All programm must be free (for free conception), but almost all games are not free, and steam is not GNU. So, what are you doing on gaming site?
And still, from philosophy point of view, linux users are not completely free, because they have restrictions of GNU.

Steam Hardware Survey For August 2014, Linux Slips

Not that being able to better estimate the nth decimal position of people using GNU/L for gaming would be of any help.
IMHO a good boost will only come once Valve releases its Steam Machines.

Quoting: liamdawePersonally I would prefer an opt-out for everyone over an opt-in for a % of the userbase. You called me, here I am, the privacy person! :D I don't want any opt-out recording of my hardware/software/whatever. Valve should mind its own business, I already mistrust Steam as it is now.
It will never happen though as privacy people would kick up a stink about it I'm sure.
It's a shame that traditional consoles can do it so easily by simple things like tracking the amount actually sold, or just releasing the number of people signing into their online services.

I am very happy now with the performance of The Witcher 2. The game is great BTW.
The only problem is that I am getting crashes from time to time, I am using the included self-report tool to report them automatically.

Quoting: CimerydEheh! :)Quoting: godlikeSo what you're saying is that I NEED to order parts and build a desktop PC. Thanks, this will help me when arguing with the wife.Quoting: CimerydIf the "redux" version of Metro's engine is OpenGL 4.x only, then I am afraid the changes to play it are slim. The Linux Intel drivers officially support GL 3.x with some 4.x extensions.Quoting: lavejust in case someone is wondering - you will need:Does that mean my Intel graphics laptop won't be able to run it at all, even with settings cranked down?
AMD 5xxx Series or higher
NVIDIA 4xx Series or higher
I guess we need to wait and see if they will support both 3.2 and 4.x.
