The Humble Strategy Bundle has a few interesting Linux games

It is not just a question of money however, that is going to be little for a bundle anyway. I am more concerned with userbase. Even if I pay zero, for them it will still count as additional Steam keys sold, and they can use that figure to market their game. I am not inclined to offer them that '+1'.
EDIT: by so doing I may lose the chance of getting nice games for cheap (e.g. TITANS looks good), but I have so many games already on my Steam account, way more than my available time to play them.

Quoting: EhvisYou are right and I had indeed forgotten that.Quoting: TeodosioI would buy it if it weren't for all the Endless games included. Amplitude (the developer) made a point not to support GNU/Linux.In case of bundles that's not really a reason. You can explicitly deny them any money by customising the distribution. I always zero the non-Linux games when I buy bundles.

I remember a few years ago they run a poll on their website asking whether users wanted GNU/L support or two other alternatives (I don't remember what they were). Trick was, only current certified users could vote. And guess what os was running an average user of a Doze-only game...? It reminded me of Pilate asking to choose between Jesus and Barabbas eheh.

If you are on Debian (as root, it will likely work on Ubuntu as well):
To check available governors and current setting:
To set the performance governor to all cpu cores, assuming you have 8 logical cores (replace '7' with the correct number minus 1 if different):
Repeat the above with 'powersave' instead of 'performance' or restart the computer to go back to power saving.
EDIT:
On second thought, the following should work just fine on any distribution:
$ apt install cpufrequtils -yTo check available governors and current setting:
$ cpufreq-infoTo set the performance governor to all cpu cores, assuming you have 8 logical cores (replace '7' with the correct number minus 1 if different):
$ for i in {0..7}; do cpufreq-set -c $i -g performance; doneRepeat the above with 'powersave' instead of 'performance' or restart the computer to go back to power saving.
EDIT:
On second thought, the following should work just fine on any distribution:
$ echo performance | sudo tee /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor

Does anybody know whether they are introducing any new interesting game mechanics, or is this going to be "more of the same"?

Guys I may be the cheapest guy around but I own almost all content DLCs for both CK2 and EU4 (not the skin packs tough). How did I do that without spending hundreds? I waited for 75% discounts, bundles etc. I spent hundreds of hours on Paradox games and they were definitely worth more than I paid.
Tyranny – Bastard’s Wound released, some thoughts

It's not that they removed something to be sold later, DLCs are just additional content.
Well ok, I anticipate the obvious reply here: "if you don't buy the DLCs you don't get the complete experience".
The alternative for them is to stop releasing DLCs, declare the game as "complete" and immediately move to "Tyranny 2" (and EU5, CK3, HoI5, etc...). Do you think that would be better?

Quoting: Sir_DiealotIt isn't even so much about the money, I just like my games complete. In this case, it would mean getting some fancy Archon edition for 60 Euros, two pieces of DLC for another 22 Euros and possible future DLC who knows how much. The older stuff is discounted atm., true, but still, no idea how much it will be eventually, and when.I started my first Tyranny playthrough a few days ago (commander edition, no DLCs). The game feels complete enough to me and it can be bought at less than 20€ at this time.

Quoting: Sir_DiealotI would normally be all over a game in the style of Tyranny, but with their high price tiered release plus DLC they aren't going to see a cent from me. Maybe in a few years when all is said and done.I am careful about money myself. 66% off at next winter solstice, problem solved.

Crusader Kings II - Jade Dragon expansion announced, introducing China as an off-map influence

Producers usually cut game prices after a while not because they are good hearted or because that is customary, but because sales fade with time and they try to get some extra bucks by lowering price.
Knowing this, I am sure the reason why Crusader Kings 2's price is the same of 2012 is that sales are still solid. That, btw, is probably due to development still being active after five years, thanks to DLCs.

Quoting: MalIt's not DLCs that I complain about Paradox. It's the fact that they never reduce prices of older titles. And to think that they even tried to increase them. That's when they showed their true colors. I believe that they really deserved all of the backlash shitstorm. Even if I loved and continue to love their games after that episode I see them under a different light. You have to put that in perspective by understanding how pricing works.
