Well it seems obvious to me that they are just trying to keep their options open, without committing to any course of action (yes/no).
Probably, but this is just guesswork here, they are going to give it a go at some point and see if they can get a decent build.

I see a future when Doze will have disappeared from the desktop and all the games will be GNU/Linux only. That is going to be a happy future for me.

I really hope that combat isn't as messy as it is in Pillars, that was really annoying.
Why did you find it messy? Because of the real time?
I've been playing the Baldur's Gate series since forever and I felt right at home with Pillars' combat. The first thing to do though is set up autopause rules, f.e. when an enemy is sighted, dies etc.
It just felt weird, hard to explain it properly. To me having so many characters around, all happening in real time with having to pause to give commands and study the battle, it just felt like a mess.

I do need to give it another try sometime soon though.
Combat was a nightmare for me as well. But it seems that around the first or second DLC they released a patch that provided AI for the companions so that you don't need to babysit them any longer. I gave it another go recently and this time I am really enjoying it.

Look forward to the day when games will be released for GNU/Linux only. It will be the end of all these stories.

Yes people keep telling me that my thinking is wrong, unpolite, politically uncorrect.

But to be honest I can't see what Doze could ever contribute to my life, actually it caused me lots of pains in several occasions, so it would be a relief for me to see it go. About Mac, I have no sympathy at all for a rip-off of FreeBSD. If only FreeBSD people had used the GNU license...
