Quoting: HighballI mean, I'm completely ignorant on world trade and import laws and all that. You are correct. From https://www.reviews.org/au/games/valve-steam-deck-australia-interview/ [External Link]
So, why exactly did it take so long for Steam Deck to be sold in Australia? “Now is the right time because it’s the soonest we could do it,” said Yang. “It takes a very long time to get everything buttoned up in terms of financial due diligence, and then setting up all the logistics and warehousing and shipping and returns and all that kind of stuff.”
“To add to that, Australia was on the list of countries we wanted to be in during the first day of even designing the product,” said Aldehayyat. “It was designed to meet Australian requirements. It was certified the same time the US and Europe and Asia was certified. It was just that we did not have a sales channel in Australia, we didn’t have a way to deal with returns. We didn’t have a business presence really, from a hardware standpoint, and so it just took a long time to get all that set up.”

I dislike Epic as much as the next person but I'm not going to say no to free games. I already have 152 of them, many AAA and I've yet to give them any money.

Quoting: TurkeysteaksWhat is the game on the thumbnail for the article? I recognise it but can't put a name to it and it's confusing me to hell hah.Every Thursday there are 2 new free games to claim on the Epic Games Store. You have a week to claim them and the next Thursday there are 2 new games to claim. They remain in your account
This is a nice big selection of games - I've never tried Amazon's launcher for games before, usually only grab their GOG ones. Not that I have prime anymore, though this does make it tempting. I also still have yet to create an Epic account, though with all the freebies over the years I'm wondering if I'm shooting myself in the foot by doing so haha.

Quoting: Liam DaweAny customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is blackQuoting: Mountain ManThe Humble Bundle just isn't as enticing as it used to be. They still claim "pay what you want" but then lock the best games behind the highest price threshold. I miss the days when it was literally "pay that you want".To be "devil's advocate" for a moment: the PWYW model was only good for players after the initial boom where people were quite generous. Developers and Humble all need to make money from it, so it makes sense to have a minimum that still gives players a better deal than buying individually (and usually by quite a lot too).
The bundles haven't been PWYW for a long time now, can't remember the last time I saw that, multiple years no doubt. It's almost always "Pay at least" now.

We’ve successfully moved over to AlmaLinux from a nearing EOL CentOS, to ensure that GamingOnLinux can continue operating long into the future on a modern server software platform. What made you go with AlmaLinux instead of Rocky Linux?
Quoting: Grogantheir silly init scripts wouldn't initialize the network if the NIC driver wasn't a module. My second build did, and it worked. This Slackware user (at the time) sure didn't like that lol.Do you think we have a reputation for being "picky"? I noped out of Linode back in the early 2010s when I tested their Slackware images and found they did some iffy things to the init scripts. It was long ago, I forget, but I didn't like it
Did you also notice the Thunderbird banner recently?Yes! Happy to see a non intrusive advertisement :)
