Yeah, I'm o.k. waiting 6mo if it'll iron out the bugs and let me play on a platform that I use and know and trust will be around long enough to keep my cloud saves in tact (steam). it would be amazing if it came out for Linux again. I really appreciated this.

I definitely played both borderlands 1 with wine and borderlands 2 on Linux native. I purchased the Pre-Sequel on Linux native as well but I just couldn't get into it. I also purchased The telltale games borderlands game and ran it with wine and proton.

However because I have what is now kind of a craptop as far as graphics are concerned I've been getting more enthusiastic about streaming game services. I think it's cool that Google is offering its own service running on linux and though I'm skeptical of signing up for another service with Google I'm interested in how that might benefit Linux overall.

Makes me think I'll stick to wired controllers for now. But prolly not. Still, I was surprised by the amount of steps :o. Shedding light is a good thing here though, maybe it'll help move things towards being a little more automagic.

I haven't read all the comments, but just being real here. Wine doesn't work that smoothly for many newer games, especially AAA. I think adding in this support, if that is what they are doing, should be something you turn on in the options and highlighted as experimental/unstable so no expectations otherwise. Low expectations here are critical.

other than that, i'd be down :D. Considering I run steam via wine anyway for a few games but generally avoid it because of the issues and lower framerates.

Dead Cells, probably one of the best Linux games this year is now out

I've enjoyed playing the pre-release game. First time playing a game like it. However it was laggy on my Intel HD 3000 and seemed to progressively get worse as I got deeper into the game on each run through. I'm glad they feel good about releasing a 1.0 final version. As of last play (a few weeks ago), I get the message "we are still optimizing for intel graphics". Hopefully post-release that is something they'll address and it'll run smoother and I can play again :D. Bosses and complex enemies were just impossible with the lag.
