I absolutely love this game. I'm about 37% through but this is only because I've been too busy just having fun to be bothered with the actual story missions. I've just about cleared everything off the map though, so will have to continue with the story missions. I've unlocked all the abilities tiers and am only killing death threatened Captains to get legendery runes.
The "Storm Of Urfael" had me foxed for ages as I could find little info on it but I don't use it much anyway (press "2", then spam "f" for multiple executions).
Never been too keen on 3rd person view before but this has changed my outlook and I'll go back and play The Witcher 2 after this.

Quoting: melkemindApologies for being off topic but I have to add my 2p.... Shadow of Mordor runs absolutely perfectly for me - GTX 660, i7 4790k - medium settings, rarely below 60fps. And this is with Compiz, whereas with some games I switch window manger due to glitches with input or alt-tab freezes. No idea what performance is like in Windows but I couldn't be happier with it.Quoting: rustybroomhandleShadow of Mordor runs very well for me, for example - the benchmark never dips below 60fps.I'd definitely like to see proof of that, along with your specs, posted on the forum.
Regarding Feral's status as a good/bad porter, as you said, it's all relative. Some people are satisfied with performance lower than they'd get on Windows. Others aren't. And obviously, Nvidia users will be happier with them than AMD. It's all about your perspective and your expectations.

Despite that I'll get it eventually but I'm already bogged down in games yet to be played and would like to see performance improvements first.

What's the performance like with this now? I have an i7-4790K and a GTX 660. I've been hanging off getting it in light of previous reports.

I stalked the dragon for many months and despite the razor sharp claws and fiery breath I still managed to hunt down my quarry.

Quoting: DrMcCoyIt would be a shame if devs who previously didn't, now insist their games do have Steam running so as to protect themselves from this in some way. I'd still hope users are trusted and treated in good faith... maybe at least the Linux versions ;)Quoting: kalinThere is nothing for abuseWell, many games can be played without having Steam running. So you could, theoretically, buy the game, install it, copy the game data somewhere else, and then ask for a refund. You get your money back and keep playing the game outside of Steam. Of course, you'll lose features like cloud saves and achievement tracking, but you might not care about those.
EDIT: Just to be clear, I am not advocating that you do this. This would be illegal too.
