I would really like to be able to run SteamOS on a laptop. Would be great to be able to tune image quality, fps, and battery usage like we can on Steam Deck. And the Desktop Mode is really useful on a laptop.

Unpopular opinion:
I think it's too soon for a standalone VR headset for PC games (rumored as Deckard), unless Valve expects developers to specifically target Deckard. But you won't be able to play current gen PC VR games on it.
The Steam Deck has awesome performance, but for portable VR (like the Quest) we need 3664x1920 resolution and at least 72fps. The problem is that the Quest has it's own low spec library. Deckard has to be able to run VR games intended for a (high end) PC (because that is what people have in their Steam library)
That said, I still hope it's Deckard, but I expect the slightly upgraded Steam Deck.

Does this do any enhancement? Because I can confirm that the Steam version of Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II already runs great on Steam Deck (only the menu's are 2 fps for some reason)

Maybe there's an error in the Pop!_OS data. It is 2.97% of Linux users and gained 2.97%, meaning it was 0% previous month.. Does not seem correct to me.

I would like to play MGS1 on a very low resolution with pixelated textures as it was on the PSX. I prefer that style over the more smooth graphics of the PC version.

What I got from reading the replies to legluondunet's post: Apparently, playing roms needs to be justified. So, that kinda proofed his point about it being unethical.

Quoting: Liam DaweI understand that it works, but would it be a viable option to do actual typing work in for a couple of hours? Could it replace a 27 inch monitor for that purpose?Quoting: CZiNTrPTI would love to use them while plugging in a keyboard as well for a main desktop experience to code and work.Article updated. Works without issues with their adapter.
Could you try this and update once you got the dongle situation sorted out?
Thanks

Game dev takes a lot of time, so I hate it when the environment I work in is wasting it.

Quoting: EikeTry getting intellisense to work. It requires the exact correct combination of software versions for Unity, VSCode, Dotnet, Mono and the C# plugin for VSCode. So don't even think about updating any of these, once you get it to work. And also expect random Unity crashes.Quoting: spacemonkeyHoping someday Unity + Visual Studio Code just works on Linux. Game Dev is what is keeping me on Windows.VSCode should run all fine as far as I know?!? (Though personally I hate it! :D )
