- Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hell
- Men of War: Assault Squad 2
- Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands
- Company of Heroes 3
Those will hopefully keep me going next year !

KDE developer suggests Plasma needs to be simpler by default

In the past, I've been keeping away from KDE as I've had all kinds of issues with KDE/plasma, anything from stability issues to inconsistency and confusing options in systemsettings.
But for various technical reasons I'm currently stuck on KDE/plasma and have been running it for a little over a year. And I have to say it's really growing on me, fast and hard. I have come to really like it. It's been stable, performant and just working.
But the overwhelming amount of settings and customization options can be a bit much, even for a person who have been using linux since back in 2005. So I can absolutely understand new users being a bit “put off” or even intimidated by all options and what they actually do. So in my mind, it's a good thing that the devs are picking up on this and hopefully trying to address it.
So maybe work a little on the defaults and then and the rework the system settings so you have "basic options" always shown. And then have the ability to expand to more "advanced options" when/if needed.

KDE developer thinks they will become the 'Windows or Android' of the FOSS world

As far as I'm concerned, KDE can be what ever they want !
As long as they stay FOSS and doesn't remove the freedom och choice in the DE, I'm a happy camper.

Helping to keep your game library tidy Lutris 0.5.9 is out supporting Epic Games Store

I'm playing FarCry5 through Lutris and the Epic launcher. So it first starts up the Epic launcher and then from there I start the game.
With the update I was hoping that it wouldn't need the Epic launcher, and could start the game directly from within Lutris.
But yeah, I might as well keep doing it the way I am atm.

Quoting: dxmnIt doesn't even work properly in practice from me, to be honest. You download games as you would on Windows, download the launcher from Epic and run it through Wine (launching games from the Epic launcher doesn't even work) but Lutris won't know if the game is installed until the launcher closes completely (with exit code 0), not just pressing the X button.OK...sounds messy and unnecessarily complicated.
The run command in Lutris post-install calls the proprietary launcher to launch said game once it's shown as installed in Lutris. It's kind of a messy chain. I change the run command to the base .exe almost every time because it almost never works without changing it.

But yeah, these days you can't be sure. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Quoting: IzaicAssuming supply issues don't ruin those plans.Well, that's a given !

When you try to launch the game from Lutris, does it then launch the proprietary launcher and the launches the game ?

Quoting: dxmnIt’s a little disappointing to me that the method they used to implement this wasn’t a project like Legendary, but you have to download the proprietary launcher, run it through their custom patched Wine, etc. I’m not complaining as long as it works. So, how does this work ?

Really loving the “roll” AMD is on, atm !:heart:
I was planing on upgrading some of my hardware (cpu, gfx, ram) later this year, as the last upgrade on the AM4 platform. But I think I'll stick with what I have until spring 2022, and that will then be my last upgrade on AM4. Save up some extra “c.r.e.a.m” and go for the top/high-end stuff instead of the mid/high-end I usually do, as a way of making it last as long as possible before the next upgrade.
