I have a simple rule: If you need Windows, install it in a VM. Never ever grant Windows access to real hardware.

I had similar issues, but at shutdown: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2024/06/nvidia-release-550-90-07-stable-and-555-52-04-beta-drivers-for-linux/comment_id=264369
Good to see, that there is some discussion going on in the nVidia forums.

Quoting: GuestI don't know what hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime driver is, it seems a manjaro thing.Yes
Quoting: GuestTo be sure we are speaking about the same setup, prime render offload means that the display is attached just to the igp and you run commands on the discrete one via prime-run script.Yes. I only ran
steam or DaVince Resolve with prime-run. Currently I have only installed the video-intel drivers and so far, I have not yet encountered any such crashNext time, I'll try the nvidia only drivers and see, if that works

Quoting: GuestI had the hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime driver installed and for regular tasks it was using Intel. But that didn't prevent the system to crash every now and then (and at mostly every shutdown)Quoting: VardamirI'm currently using my Intel graphics only, because the NVidia driver crashed my computer on shutdown every now and then. I suspect the driver also for some crashes during system update, which is particularly funny. Had to reinstall after a crash during an update destroyed the libc (without it, repairing with a chroot is not possible)You can always try to use prime render offload and rely on intel for desktop task and getting frames back from nvidia for the heavy stuff.
Before switching to Amd, I found that to be the less troublesome way to live with the blob.

I would love if Valve would offer streaming for all "Steam Deck Verified" games. Such games would probably work perfectly in a Linux container. They should talk to Google to give them Stadia (doesn't Google offer Stadia as white label product?)

Quoting: devlandStreaming games will never catch on because the whole point of the hand-held gaming success story is to be able to play anywhere not "anywhere there is a good internet connection".How about having options? If you want to install your game locally, you can. If you want to stream and not worry about updates and such, you can also do that.

Here on my Tuxedo notebook with Manjaro and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050, Palworld runs very bad. Even on the lowest graphics settings.
I still suspect, that the game uses the Mesa Intel Graphics instead of the NVIDIA card, although I start the game with
I also read somewhere, that Wine/Proton automatically configures the NVIDIA graphics.
Does anybody know, what I'm doing wrong here?
