Saints Row 2 Linux port report, not good

There is an option to "fix" the handling of the cars. I don't know what that means.

Note that these mods break networking, unless the other person has the exact same mods installed.

Saints Row 2 Linux port report, not good

By the way, the mod collection Gentlemen of the Row [External Link] works a treat. By far and away the best feature of it is the ability to relabel the controls HUD as Xbox 360 buttons. After that, playing with a Steam controller (using the recommended controller setup) worked a treat.

To get it to work:
- extract the archive into a temporary directory
- open that directory in a terminal
- type "wine cmd.exe"
- type "Create_Custom_GotR_v1.9.2.bat"
- select the mods you want enabled
- copy the files from the MY_CUSTOM_PATCH folder (patch.vpp_pc preload_anim.tbl preload.tbl shaders_pc - back up the originals) to the game folder

There may be some particular mods that affect stability, but I didn't notice a problem. If you want to keep the game fairly stock recommend the baseball bat mod as it is fun but not game breaking.

I can't imagine any of the big three would port this badly, they are all doing great work at the moment.

Lots of people in here think that they can interpret the law better than Fig can.

Investments always carry a degree of risk, and you should always get advice from someone who knows what they are talking about before putting your hard earned money near anything. Some guy on youtube is not that person. This guy has an agenda, but it likely has nothing to do with preventing people from losing money.

Quoting: ShmerlI think Fig actually tries to make it more of an investment and less of a pre-order. Because crowdfunding is indeed more of the former. However they don't make it a classic investment either. It's something on its own.

Also, they so far listed quite respected people in their advisory board, including Brian Fargo from inXile. I doubt he'd like to be associated with a Ponzi scheme.
It's both.

You can either reward pledge or you can invest. The money just goes into the same total funding pool.

Quoting: scaineBut yeah, the video makes it clear that some extremely shady practices are at foot here. You can't compare this to Kickstarter, because a) Kickstarter is up front on the risks and b) Kickstarter equates to a pre-order, whereas Fig is hyping itself as a share vehicle. Two very different things.
It's both. (And Kickstarter isn't preordering.) So yes you can.

The video is trash. It's hard to take someone seriously who clearly is upset at where the industry is going. He's angry at the world. He's had to ignore so many inconvenient facts to make this hatchet job of a video. DF being shady? There's 20 hours of video documenting the development of Broken Age. (And there will be the same for this game as well.)

Quoting: CaldazarNo, we're considering and debating a point that happens to have been brought up by Gamergate, amongst many others, as well.
The video calls DoubleFine frauds. I think you are blaming the wrong person for the hyperbole!

Quoting: DarthBoSeriously? Are we still pandering to the gamergate narrative?
We are talking about a company that has delivered on every title they ever kickstarted, in case of Broken Age indeed delivered far MORE than they promised.
On top of that, they had two early access games, one that was completed, and one that didn't sell and had to be cancelled. Rather than drop it instantly, they did some extra work and released the source code.
They've also ported all their games to Linux, and did so before supporting Linux was cool.

What an awful evil company.
The original Psychonauts [External Link] is also on sale on steam for $0.99 right now. Great game.

Massive Chalice came out and it was a good game.
Disagree on both accounts. Part 1 of Broken Age was fairly good. The puzzles were weak, but the story was interesting and I was excited to see where it went. Part 2 was flat out bad. The story completely fell apart and the whole thing fell flat. The game looked great, the art style was terrific, but beyond that, I felt it was a bitter disappointment overall.

Massive Chalice came out on time, I'll give them that, but I thought it was a rather mediocre game.
Subjective statements though, wouldn't you agree? Making games that not everyone likes but generally well received (76 metacritic if that means anything) doesn't make you fraudsters, nor does being late on delivering the game.

I wonder how much of it is just lingering dislike over his stance on that gamergate nonsense last year. (Like his GDC thing.)
