Why XWayland and not Wayland? What's the difference? I want to use Wayland for the enhanced security as soon as possible.

NVIDIA releases the 465.19.01 Beta driver for Linux, looks like more Wayland work coming

So passthrough should work with my:
i9-9900k
RTX 2080
last time I've tried, if I remember correctly, I got something like my cpu would not support VM or alike.
Also for Linux in virtualbox on Windows host?
Thanks

Valve moves on from OpenVR, goes all-in with OpenXR for SteamVR

I'll get a HP Reverb G2 in fall and hope it will work also on Ubuntu/X-Plane. OpenXR sounds good but if it's also needing Monado...oh well. I don't expect anything from HP, they even told me, while I still had warranty on my laptop, to buy a new motherboard as I forgot the bios password! So no more HP laptop for me and I would also happily dismiss G2 if competition would arise. Index is to expensive and low resolution. What headsets are working in Linux/steamvr apart Index?

Hopefully this will enable HP's upcoming Headset on Linux.

Yea HP..lost my bios password and was told to buy a new motherboard.
I had hopes, as the announcement was with Valve and MS, for steamvr on Linux to bypass HP.

SteamVR doesn't need this? Does the upcoming HP Reverb G2 work with steamvr on Ubuntu?

The atmosphere is great, hence I'm looking forward to replay in VR after we get the new HP/MS/Valve headset.
Played it through with a few crashes back then Nvidia was to blame. Nowadays bugs should be all fixed. Hide and seek gets somtimes boring, should be more FPS scenes but I loved the steam, textures etc. in my old Odyssey VR.

It appears that Valve are preparing Half-Life: Alyx for Linux

When we have the new VR Glasses from HP/Microsoft/Valve, I'll reinstall Ubuntu and play this.
