Stealing cars, helicopters and blowing stuff up in Voxel Turf, some thoughts

A game that's developed on Linux and ported to Windows.

Will probably pick this one up in the next week or so.

The Transport Fever developers outline their post-release plans, performance will be worked on

I love this game and luckily enough i have a powerful enough laptop to slog trough it. With my Nvidia 1070 GPU and a Intel i7-6820HK CPU the game seems to be doing just good enough, even late game with maxed graphics. Not great, but tolerable. I had to set autosave to every 5 years instead of 1 year, since that is the only thing that seems to make the game stutter from time to time.

Also using Manjaro's(Arch-based) native libraries instead of the outdated Steam libs seems to improve the performance. I tried both. Another case where Steams outdated libs are causing problems. I would recommend people to try Steam with the distro's native libraries for every game, unless you are actually using Ubuntu 12.04.

Steam store updated, Valve still haven't fixed filtering to only Linux games on the homepage

I hate that i have to watch games i can't play, but there are so many issues with the Steam client on Linux that haven't been fixed for years. The client is just so terribly slow compared to Windows and the video player refuse to play full screen. I want to watch trailers and community uploaded videos directly from the Steam client and i want to browse the store and buy games without waiting for the client to load.

Transport Fever released with day-1 Linux support, some thoughts

I have been eagerly waiting for this game, since it seems like they fixed all the small annoyances that made me dislike Train Fever and added more features. The game does seem like a modern version of OpenTTD.

You forgot to mention mod support. There is currently 91 mods in the workshop as we speak. I am curious to see what the modders will be able to do with this game.

The performance seems a little troublesome on larger maps. I am currently downloading the game from Steam to find out.

Valve Looks Like It's Removed The SteamOS Icon For Games That Work On Linux, But Not Perfectly On SteamOS

Quoting: Keizgon
Quoting: clelLooks a bit alarming that they completely removed the icon and there is no clue now, whether this game runs on Linux..
They still run on Linux, it was just delisted from SteamOS. It's not the end of the world...
But how am i supposed to know that it still runs on Linux when i buy the game?

Quoting: edoI think than Valve is just setting a quality standard for Linux games, for some reason its only needed on Linux since most of the games on macs and windows works without dramas. Its just not cool than on windows I can install and play anodyne, but on Linux I have to follow a tutorial about how to make that game works on the OS.
So yes, they are just doing what they have to do. And a tux icon would not fix anything, from now on, I would hope than if a game want to claim to support an OS (win, mac, linux or steamos), it should start without annoying workarounds.
But for example Starbound works great on desktop Linux without any configurations. Its just the launcher that requires a mouse that is the only thing i can think of as the reason for its removal.

Steam Controller On Ubuntu, A Tweak You Need To Do
16 Oct 2015 at 6:35 pm UTC

I want a Steam Controller so badly, but unfortunately i live in Scandinavia and we are not part of the pre-order. :/

My age old PS3 controllers are in desperate need for retirement and i have been putting of replacing them in anticipation of the Steam controller. I will buy two the first chance i get. Apparently someone is making big bucks on this on eBay. Look at the prices [External Link] some of these are demanding!

While i can see the need for some QA i fin the fact that they removed every clue that the games are working in Linux at all from the store page a little troublesome.

Just look at Starbound's [External Link] Steam page and you won't even find it under the system requirements.

I want the TUX logo back for games that work on Linux!
