He probably have some kind of "steam developer access" where valve just let him install any game from steam to work with. It wouldn't make sense for him to buy all the games he need just to check for some specific bug.

I hope for some big companies to invest money on this project, so we could have some AAA games developed with godot in the future.

I think right now, is more important to ask developers Vulkan support rather than linux support directly (both if possible).

Since Vulkan is still an "New Tech", developers should be encouraged to use rather than Directx (even if they only develop the windows version for now), because they would get more experience with it and driver developers would gave more attention to it too.

Later when Vulkan become more common, then the "learning curve" is going to be easier to fully develop to Linux. Even if we are not get native games by now, the performance with wine/proton would be a whole lot better with a Vulkan game (with minimum performance loss hopefully).

Apparently Valve are working with Easy Anti-Cheat to get support in Steam Play (updated: yup)

I hope they don't give up on this, since EAC is developed by a company owned by Epic, and for then would be better to "not help the competitor".

Unless they're actually planing something with linux too, who knows...

Hey Liam,

Have you thought about consulting some linux developers to make a kind of guide of "Best practices to make an multi-platform game"?

Like pointing some tips about which engine, libraries, sound libraries they should use, and which they should avoid...

I know that most developer companies don't support linux because of business decisions, but there are a lot of devs who are a little "clueless" about how linux works. This also clould help some users to feedback devs about using some resources to make the porting / emulation easier for us.

Anyway It's just a suggestion :)
