you always seem to put trailers into your articles..so i have to go to youtube to search for gameplay every time to see what the game really is.. though this trailer has some bits of gameplay.

it would be great if you add gameplay videos also. so its easier to check out in one place.

Quoting: XpanderLooks like your video card might be over heating (full of fluff)?

I've played till the first save house (past the first night) at 1920x1200 with all graphics at max apart from view distance which is at default (in the middle). With the motion blur enabled the low fps isn't as noticeable. My hardware's: i7-4790K, 32GB memory, GTX Titan.

Besides a few low resolution textures, a couple of screwy shaders and only eye's animated on faces & FPS. The main issue is that some things and areas require a game pad. Like the hold tab to change weapon menu (you don't need to use this as quick switch is better for keyboard users anyway) and after entering the first (over night) save house my mouse went very slow and WASD movement wasn't working but everything was fine with the game pad. Oh and don't unplug the game pad (when using xpad drivers) or the game will crashes.

Despite the bug's I'm quite impressed and am enjoying the game much more than Dead Island (which I didn't care for).

nope my videocard isnt overheating at all i have all the information on my second montior when playing games. it barely even hits 65°C and fan is only 20% .. what might make you think that its overheating are the lines over the game... thats cause of SimpleScreenRecorder and compton+nvidia flipping dont get a long.
usualy fullscreen games i record dont have such problems, only windowed games, but this is one of the rare games that acts up on the video output.

i played the tutorial area with fps around 35-60, which was mostly fine for me. as soon as i got the mission to go outside the framerate dropped to 15 .. turning down all graphics settings and giving the game a __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATION=1 %command% boosted it to around 19 fps ..still unplayable.. and no i wont play it at 720p...thatswhy im on PC not on console.

hope they patch it fast

Quoting: OrkultusSo i think we are dealing with a binary that is built to support SSSE3 again, like we did with Tropico 5. My 6 core (AMD Phenom 2) @ 3.2ghz wont load the game what so ever. My laptop with the Intel i5-3210M Quad Core @ 2.5ghz, will run the game. I do suffer from low FPS on the Nvidia GT 640M 2GB. I am hoping that they fix their binary like Kalypso did with Tropico 5, so we could use our AMD phenom 2 processors. I dont see how a Phenom 2 six core couldn't handle this game. Hell i haven't even seen the entire Linux System / Desktop use more than two cores. Also it seems to play everything else amazingly.

thats entirely fine that you suffer..first you have lowend 640..secondly its mobile one, which makes it even weaker. its not meant for real gaming.. world of goo and the like only.. ohh yes you can run some 6 years old game engines also.

Quoting: aLWell, i play 1280x1024... not sure that qualifies as HD. It cost me 200euros 3 years ago or so... Not sure if that is very low end or not... but I play most of the games fine, just not in ultra high settings... bl2, metro last light, witcher 2...

I just tried redux version to check out the fps (since I already finished it the non-redux version and hadnt tried this one) and steady 40fps without any tweaking... Im using nvidia-drivers 340.65-2 so not last version, but tbh I expect to be able to play this Dying Light reducing some of the fanciest effects... am I too crazy?

you are crazy ... with that resolution it runs a bit better ofc..but this game has minimum of 560.. your 440 wont qualify in any way.

will fix it fast, before he returns to say that TF2 and Dota2 run fine..

this card probably wont run metro redux on 1080p even let alone dying light

Quoting: FeistA minor curious thing I just noticed. This game has achivements as well as trading cards, both of which are working as they should. Yet no game activity is registered under the "Activity"-tab, nor under the "Profile"-tab in steam.

Weird, I don't think that has ever happened before.

it shows up now.. it was probably the issue with the release of the game... the game was actually set to release today at 18:00 GMT i think and anything before that wasnt yet showing up.

Quoting: pbI have yet to see an AAA game that runs perfectly upon release. ;-)

Metro Redux, Metro LL, Borderlands 2/TPS, The WItcher 2 (performance was fine for me), Dead Island just to name few.

while im not hoping to run Dying Light on maximum because my GPU is old midrange 660Ti ... but i would expect it to run at playable framerate on medium/low settings

Wasteland 2, Shadowrun and Cities in Motion 2
