New York sues Valve over "illegally promoting gambling" for loot boxes

I always wondered how valve always seemed to get away with their lootboxes. Everyone was saying EA and others are bad but valve has been doing that crap for years.

Now the american gun problem, i don't live there so i don't know, but i think the problem is not video games or movies, but the culuture itself. Banning things doesn't really help imo, it needs to change from cultural level i think... but what do i know.

Lets just play games where you pick flowers only i guess...

Quoting: KoopaI am moving out to Fluxer!! Liam is testing it, we have an experimental server there.
I tested fluxer for my small community also. Great to hear that GOL is also trying it.
fluxer seems pretty decent, but ofc early days and has some networking issues sometimes.

Played a bit for nostalgia, but i don't understand why AF and AA options are missing from the game settings.
anyway if anyone wonders
~/.ut2004/System/UT2004.ini is the place to change those

really good to see old games still kept alive.

GDC 2026 report: 36% of devs use GenAI; 28% target Steam Deck and 8% target Linux

Steam Deck higher than nintendo switch lol

yeah the AI tools usage is inevitable at this point i guess
research and brainstorming doesn't sound like a job for generative AI though.
I can understand using AI to do some tedious tasks that nobody likes to do but yeah, sad.

ARC Raiders latest update adds a Solo vs Squads mode, long-term Trophy Display project and lots more

I never was into extraction shooters before but this game is something else. You can play it casually solo and do your things with hardly any PvP at all if you chose to play that way. It matches agressive players into same matches as priority and also non agressives togheter.

and yeah the game looks really good visually and runs great even on my aging system (by todays standards).

every time i have taken a few days break from it and return, the first match when i spawn in i'm always like "woow this lighting and texture detail"

ARC Raiders has a new content-filled roadmap for early 2026

neat. i have just 105 hours and seen pretty much everything the game has to offer. Haven't taken down Queen yet and there are few quests to still do but yeah. Its still fun game though and is well worth the price for the hours of fun you get.
looking forward to February updates and beyond

People still pre-order games?
That's quite a shame tbh to give money without having a product for couple of months. You will not be able to refund then afaik.

Personally i dont care about this game but it really sucks for people who liked/still like it.
Hopefully Community can create private server if nothing comes out of the Rust developers offer.
at least theres 1 year to collect the data for the community to come up with the solution.

ARC Raiders hits over 12.4M sales - new patch out with weapon nerfs, a free gift and a darker Stella Montis

Amazing game. 100 hours played now. Still enjoying it.
About the AI things.. Personally i don't care if its done in a way it doesn't annoy me. I didnt even know voices were made with that, but there hardly are any voiceactors anyway in this game. Just Few mission messages and couple of cinematics.

edit:
If their AI tools help the team of their size make a fun game of this calibre then i dont really have much to complain.
Compared to companies that trying to milk the most out of their players with sloppy AI art
