GOG has been criticized countless times for that kind of banners that makes it very tedious to actually see what is offered. It seems that everyone is keen to copy what the other store does badly.

I'm going to try the demos of Lost But Found and Block Factory.

Edit: As soon as I logged in, I was notified that there is now a demo of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders

Quoting: Geek_ChrisSarcasm aside it would be a logistical and costly nightmare, not to mention a potential GPDR nightmare if a data breach ever happens so thanks but no thanks
Postident would be a possibility that involves an external party, so the logistics are already in place and have been for many years. If the choice is having to fake a trip abroad (which is against the rules and might get your account locked) it might be preferable than not being able to buy things.

Quoting: CaldathrasMaybe I'm not understanding your response correctly but, my understanding of the whole point of the project is to remove the need for Wine-GE completely by essentially enabling Proton to function without a running Steam client.
Yes and no. Yes, it is meant to replace Wine-GE completely. No, it does not use the wine builds that Proton uses.

Perhaps the confusion is that Proton is two different things: a python script and a bundle of things including wine with lots of patches (some of them adding a Steam dependency).
