Quoting: ExpandingManThis seems mostly useful for trying to get people who refuse to play Stellaris (which is clearly the greatest game in existence) to play Stellaris. Such people have told me that Stellaris is "a horrible map game".It was, but lately it is a hot mess. The late game devolves into horrible micromanagement because sectors/planetary automation has been broken for 3 versions now. The only viable method of reducing that load is to spin off sectors as proper vassals.
Quoting: MarlockI'm so glad I finally found >1 people who know and played Stars!Still have my original manual from back in the day. So 2 people. There are dozens of us! DOZENS!!!

Same as above. Cute game, but the mobile monetization doesn't fly on PC.

Quoting: gradyvuckovicI have some theories and opinions on why Linux isn't particular popular in non-English speaking countries.Which isn't what was said. Linux is quite popular in many countries where English isn't the primary language.
...the bigger issue is that the UX on Linux is still not quite at the point where someone could sit down at a Linux OS desktop PC and figure out every issue through navigating a GUI alone. It's not that completely self explanatory. It's still necessary to go online for help, and often the answers will be on Reddit, or Github, or some online forum, etc, and all of it in English. And you just described the exact same situation for Windows. And most major software projects, in fact. This isn't the reason, either.

Quoting: GuestNewly playable? I've had MW:Online running with DXVK for quite a long time. Dumped the game for other reasons, but it technically ran just fine.Came here to say the same thing. But this is Experimental. I've always played it via GE and checking ProtonDB it does look like most successes were with GE, not base Proton.

It isn't as bad as it seems. As I was reading this article I was also listening to this video from Bellular News [External Link]. Steam was banned/blocked in China on purpose/by accident (all depends on who you talk to). If you pop over to the Steam Tracker and scroll down to the English/Non-English stats you'll see that English Steam usage had a slight dip while they Non-English Steam usage had a larger dip. IE, people who would have been counted in the last week of December from China were prevented from being counted, causing a drop.

We're not talking about future executables. We're not talking about current, and actively maintained executables. This is Gaming on Linux, we're talking about games. And more specifically, games which were created for another OS.
Here is my Steam game list [External Link]. There are 465 games on my account, the vast majority of which were purchased when I ran Windows. I've got the 15 year badge on there, so I have games going back that far. Further when you count the re-purchases of far older titles. How many of those do you think are going to update to 64-bit any time soon?
That is what the uproar is about. It is knee-capping a breakthrough we had less than a year ago which got lots of people to finally consider, and accept, Linux as a viable gaming platform.

Quoting: MayeulCIf support for 32bit libs had been ended a while ago, we wouldn't be in this situation today.Every time I see this view expressed I have to wonder how shortsighted people have to be to not understand the implication of this.
The easy availability of 32bit libraries is pushing app developers to distribute 32bit executables, which needs to stop.

Nice. Wishlisted. If anyone likes this also check out One Deck Dungeon. They have a Native version and is very much in the same vein as this game.
