Crusader Kings III major expansion All Under Heaven gets a release date

Though I am also hoping that future DLC will finally concentrate on fleshing out and enhancing existing content and systems. The game feels overly broad right now, but quite shallow.
Paradox had published a survey this year which revealed what they are discussing internally for the next few years (and asking players opinion on those plans). There was some completely new systems (like a proper trade system which I'm very interested in) but also plans to refresh and expand existing systems (I remember ideas on Christianity and laws and internal working of feudal realm).

So there are such plans but unfortunately we don't know the results of the survey and whats was popular there, so we don't know what they will do next...

System Shock 2 (1999) is getting delisted and bundled with the 25th Anniversary Remaster

One of a few rare Steam game news that, two days after publishing, still has exactly zero likes while having hundreds (300+) of comments. :).

Confirmed - Electronic Arts (EA) sold off to investors including Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund

Another article on topic: EA will be a very different company under private ownership [External Link]. Short version:

- A giant $20 billion debt will motivate company management to concentrate on cutting costs & less-risk-and-sure return products (so selling IP's, layoffs, live services and microtransactions). My estimation: 90% chance.
- Freedom from obligatory quarterly reports to shareholders (where they need to show more and more earnings each quarter) may allow company management to concentrate more on long-term investments and allow taking risks and longer development cycles. Maybe. If management choose to go this route. My estimation: 10% chance.

Now, formally those focuses are not mutually exclusive and can be pursed together as different mid- and long-term goals. But that will require a very good management and planing. We will see. :).

Edit: While I was writing this the link to the article was already provided. Ups, sorry. :).

Proton 10.0-2d (beta) released with a few small fixes
28 Aug 2025 at 6:48 am UTC

Fixed Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced launcher hang and the game crashing on launch as well as not being possible to uninstall it via Steam.
"as well as not being possible to uninstall it via Steam".

Do I understand it right and before this fix Proton was blocking Steam from uninstalling a Steam game? How was it possible? Or was it not Proton's but Steam's own problem and Proton now fixed it (unlikely and anyway again - how is it possible)?

Game store itch.io has "deindexed" adult content due to payment processor scrutiny

what happen to the content that peope already purchased? it still can be downloaded?
Yes, I can still download my games, even those that were "suspended by an itch.io administrator.". So it's not *that* bad.
At the same time it is not good also - some of those games were in [more-or-less-]active development, and I'm unlikely to receive any updates through itch now...

:(.

The big Diplomacy Update for X4: Foundations is now in Beta

Removed Make War not Peace mission after Paranid Civil War story, unless already started.
Didn't play X4 that much so not sure what that mission was about but removing missions in updates is relatively rare...

How do you enable "Resizable BAR"? How do you know if you can enable it?
I don't think I ever meddle with it myself but NVIDIA's "Resizable BAR" and AMD's "SAM"(Smart Access Memory) on AMD side should be a toggle in bios. It's all a feature of the PCIe standard, so try searching somewhere inside PCI settings.

You need a moderately modern hardware for this (at least 10th gen or Zen 3 CPU, 3000-series NVIDIA or 6000-series AMD GPU plus motherboard of that era).

Oh, well, that's unexpected and sad. :(. I won't say that I won't buy the game or anything, but I will probably wait for a good sale instead of preordering...

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered revealed, it's out now and Steam Deck Verified

I don't get all the negative comments here. A major game release from a major franchise, working flawlessly on day 1 on Linux - I mean, how cool is that?
The novelty just wear off, I think, and people nowerdays just expect most games to work on Linux. It's not always like this, of course, but it's a default option. :). And so, instead of being exited about "Oh, it works flawlessly on Linux" people are discussing the game itself, or it's pricing, or development company. It's a sign of great improvement, really. :).

P. S. I, myself, just bought the game on release without checking protondb or anything... :).

Never was really hooked into Oblivion, but still bought remaster in hopes it will motivate Bethesda to remaster their other games. Like Morrowind.

On a side note: I really feel sorry for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 developers. It seemed like a good game that will most likely be overshadowed by OR on release tomorrow...
