After my time in the states and learning a bit about baseball, I would say it's a grand slam :)

It's great for there to be another Linux-first option for people! That said, for philosophical reasons I'm waiting for an AMD + AMD option. I don't blame System 76. I understand that a lot of people are happy about AMD + Nvidia, and because of supplied (I think?) AMD + AMD is hard to find.
Also, last time I looked at System 76, a System 76 driver was strongly recommended even for laptops that did not have a graphics card (i.e., Intel only). I don't like this. I would rather they just say "yep you can wipe it and do a fresh install". Instead the response I got was along the lines of "it might work if you don't use our driver, but our driver optimizes performance blah blah". Is their driver open source? Why aren't their optimizations upstreamed?
After all that, if there's one thing I could say to System 76, it would be a simple and enthusiastic "Thank you for what you do!".

I also really love the steam controller. But I've only played a few games with it, especially Awesomenauts (great game and works great on Linux!). I've also known people who really dislike the controller, so I guess it just depends on feeling.
If you like your shoot 'em ups, you need to look at PAWARUMI

I just wish it had local multiplayer (last time I checked I don't think this was planned).

The community mappings are so useful for the Steam games. Eventually the developers will start making their own mappings for new games. Steam controllers are now popular enough that it will be worth their time. I tried to find data on how many users of steam controllers and found this but cannot interpret it: http://steamspy.com/app/353370 [External Link]

Quoting: CybolicGood enough for me! Thank you, Cybolic.Quoting: xuwangDoes the steam controller work well for this one? I have two steam controllers and am looking for good local coop games.Last I tried it worked (months ago), but I remember having to set up my own mappings. I'll give it a go now and let you know if it's improved :)
EDIT: Yup, still no native support, but it works reasonably well with the community mapping.

So hopefully it is just a matter of time until the community comes up with a good mapping?

Steam Controller doesn't work in-game at all. This is unfortunate. I just got a steam controller so I'm trying to understand things that everyone else probably knows. By this statement, do you mean that by default it doesn't work? But it is implied that you can always make a mapping of the controller to the mouse and keyboard yourself, right? And you can always make a mapping of the steam controller to a gamepad right?
So hopefully it is just a matter of time until the community comes up with a good mapping?

Thanks for the review. This is my type of game. I got hooked on these types of games since the days of Maelstrom (which is in the Ubuntu repos by the way and is still awesome!). I was a little surprised by the price ($20), but I don't mind paying that much for a high quality game that is in my favorite genre. And also a good opportunity to show support for Linux (it is great to pretend I am supporting a good cause and thus alleviate guilt from playing video games!!!).
Glad to hear it has good steam controller support. This is a must for me nowadays.
