Funcom are finally dealing with some of the wider issues in the MMO Dune: Awakening, which includes expanded self-hosting support and more focus on PvE.
Dune: Awakening has been struggling for a while, but I do hope this latest major update brings some more people back to it as there's some great stuff in it.
After Funcom have patched Dune: Awakening quite a few times since release, the experience on Steam Deck is now good enough that it's been Steam Deck Verified.
Ahead of the release of Dune: Awakening, my one major concern with it has been swept away by the sands. Thankfully, the BattlEye anti-cheat will be enabled for players on Linux, SteamOS / Steam Deck to play it.
Dune: Awakening from Funcom is set to release on June 10th, and to ensure their servers are working well they've announced a major public playtest will go live in May.
Dune: Awakening is releasing May 20th from Funcom, and surprisingly it looks like it may actually be playable on the Steam Deck. That is, unless Funcom decide to put in some anti-cheat that blocks Linux.
