Right, while the building and simulation aspects are amazing, the achievement and RPG objectives leave me wanting. I understand it's because the game was never focused on that part to begin with, but they should really think about it as it would help out survival mode gameplay tremendously. There are a lot of great mods which turn survival mode into much more of a RPG, but official additions would be wonderful.
At least with this update they did increase the RPG/survival gameplay a bit, but not much.
