Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition for Linux is in the works

Linux gaming really is coming along isn't it! Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition is now confirmed to be coming to Linux a developer tweeted.

Trent Oster tweeted this interesting bit of info:

I have just signed the #Linux #BGEE agreement. Waiting on counter-signature. Here we go!

So folks it is coming!

The game Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is a remake of the original and it's expansion Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast. The game is currently out for Windows and iOS, and will now be out for Linux too. We could be in for a bit of a wait though, so stay tuned and we will keep you posted.

I'll definitely buy it, but it should be mentioned that we already have enhanced edition of Baldur's Gate on linux. It is called [URL='http://www.gemrb.org']Gemrb[/URL].

The new edition has new content though so it won't be the same as running the original on the open source engine.
