Metro: Last Light is heading to Linux, you all know this by now and we even spoke to the developers to get it confirmed (article here if you missed it), now the publisher has written an official statement in support of a Linux version of their AAA shooter!
This is awesome:
QuoteHowever, Deep Silver will seek to make the world of Metro more accessible to a broader audience - through a commitment to ever higher product quality; through greater strategic investment in the brand; and, in the immediate term, through the release of dedicated Mac and Linux versions of Metro: Last Light. This is just the first stage of a broader initiative to bring Metro to a wider audience, without compromising the product's strengths.

So you can be sure it is thanks to their publisher that 4A Games are able to do this, looks like Deep Silver may be getting more and more Linux friendly as time goes on!
Cannot wait!
They also confirmed via twitter it will be this year:
Besides a Mac version, a Linux version of Metro: Last Light is also in development and scheduled for release later this year.

Quoting: AnonymousI... want this game. Reminds me a bit on STALKER :D.Must be because they are both Russian games. They manage to have a distinctive atmosphere, a kind of pot pourrie of decay, hope, doom, pessimism, and playing the balalaika around campfires.
Artyom, here I come! I have not bought this game, but the second it comes out on Linux, I will be acquiring it.

Quoting: philip550cAlso, Arkady and Boris Strugatsky (the authors of "Roadside Picnic" which "Stalker" (the film) is based on - both of which "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." (the game) are based on) were Russian.Quoting: Quote from sobkasThe devs maybe but not the guy who wrote the stories. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dmitry_GlukhovskyQuoting: Quote from Quote from OZSeafordThey aren't Russian games they are Ukrainian games.
