Ascendant, a 2.5D Roguelike Brawler

Ascendant (Kickstarter Link, Greenlight Link) - Bash your way through hordes of zealots, fanatics, and beasts in a bid to overthrow a tyrannical god in this 2.5D roguelike-brawler

The developer emailed this one in and it looks pretty interesting, especially liking the art style. The effects while attacking and using abilities sure do light up the screen, very pretty.

I asked the developer Ben a few bits and bobs and he had this to say:
QuoteLiam,

Thank you for getting back to me! To answer your questions:

We are planning on releasing through other portals alongside Steam. This includes Desura, GOG.com, and GreenmanGaming along with a few others.

We have tested a Linux build and we haven't run into any issues yet. As we get closer to the final build we will be conducting more thorough tests on Linux.

If we do not get funded then we plan on continuing development through the holidays and getting the game out as soon as possible. We will most likely have to pool together our own resources to buy software licenses and work together to keep making games. However, we are 96% funded with six days left so I strongly believe that we will be funded by Dec. 1st.

It's good to see a Kickstarter where the developer hasd actually tested the Linux build, i've seen so many not even looking into it yet state they support it so this is one of the good-ens! Luckily since that email the goal has been met, so the game will come sooner rather than later, excellent! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

This is one of our Gems in the Funding Crowd #24 which should be released shortly, so we've had our thunder stolen a bit here! Not to worry though, it's a cracking looking game and I'm sure the devs won't mind us mentioning it twice!
