Spacebase DF-9 already looks like a great game and now alpha 5 is available for Linux too! The developers note that it's their biggest update yet to their space station building game.

There are masses of changes like your citizens are now able to get sick or injured and doctors to go along with that new aspect.

You can buy it from them directly using their fancy Humble Store widget which gives you a Steam key, alpha access and all future updates.

Raiders can now attempt to breach your station walls with Breach Ships, but to counter that you can now build turrets inside and outside your base. I am struggling to keep typing all this while I counter my excitement to load it up and just play it to death.

Characters can now fight in space, that's right space suit fights!

There are many more changes, go see the full patch notes.

At the moment, alpha 5 is only released for Windows. The Linux and Mac builds are still on their way.

Who's that in the crew roster at 7:48?

As usual, if anybody spots me in their game, I'd love to see a screenshot of my death!
