Feral Interactive Looking For QA Testers & Developers

By - | Views: 9,370
Feral Interactive took to reddit to announce they are expanding, and they don't just need developers, but people with experience testing AAA games.

QuoteHi penguins, just to let you know we have some job opportunities in our London UK offices.

Feral Interactive port major PC and console titles to Linux and Mac, including XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Empire: Total War, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Batman: Arkham Knight.

We're looking for two sets of applicants familiar with Linux:
- Programmers comfortable working in C/C++, whether you're junior/graduate or more experienced.
- QA testers with previous professional experience testing AAA games.

We’ll answer any questions you may have here on r/linux_gaming (unless the question is “will there be cake?”, because the answer is yes). Or you can feel free to email us a copy of your CV for a full job description:

Maybe there is someone amongst our audience who is interested.

They are porting a good number of games to Linux, so hopefully they will still be able to do this if they don't find people quickly. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Dammit, I'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic... And lack the necessary professional experience. :p

What's so special about testing AAA games?

One would think any software testing experience and/or tech-savviness was enough, no? Actually, a case could be made about the number of actual AAA games on Linux...

One would, again, think that experience with Linux is more important than attracting Windows gamers with 'AAA game testing experience' that also loaded up Ubuntu from their flash drive 'that time 3 years ago'.

"professional experience testing AAA games" i.e. demonstrate that you're an expert at drinking too much coffee and sitting in one place much longer than you should.

QuoteQA testers with previous professional experience testing AAA games.

This kind of gets me thinking, because I assume all QA testing jobs require prior experience, since it's probably something quite sought after by potential applicants... But if that's the case, then where do the people get the experience from?

@Segata Sanshiro look for agencies that deal with company's that deal with this and get on there books.
