Aspyr Media Are Teasing A New Launch Tomorrow

By - | Views: 45,127

You like new ports right? Well Aspyr Media have something up their sleeves for tomorrow, looks like we could be busy.

Posting on their facebook was this:

Hey! Do you like video games? Because we’re launching something new for our Mac and Linux users tomorrow!

Posted by Aspyr Media on Monday, 20 July 2015

Oh boy! Begin wild speculation. What do you think it will be you fine Linux gamer folk?

I'm always impressed by the quality of Aspyr ports, and I'm sure this will be no different.

It would be awesome if it was Shadow of Mordor, but it's unlikely that Aspyr would be teasing a Feral port.

Ahahahahah... GTA V... NO!!! :))). This is isn't even in the area of delusion, people. A 500 million dollar game getting ported for 1% of the audience. They'd never be able to get their money back. I'm guessing most you of hoping, haven't actually played the game. It's a huuuuuge world and a very complex one at that. Porting it to a new platform is positively a big effort. Just consider - it took two years for the Windows port. I have half a mind that Rockstar wouldn't bother with a Linux port even if Steam OS turns out to be the best thing since sliced bread.

But just so you don't blame me for never speculating - here is a thought. Fallout 4 is coming out on November 10th. So is the Steam controller and the Steam Machines. Valve already has a working relationship with Bethesda since they became partners in crime with the mod fiasco this spring. Who knows what surprises might come up come November.
