Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition Delayed For Linux, Again

This is starting to be a repeating joke now, of promise after promise and delay after delay. Now with the Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition that was supposed to be a day-1 release for Linux, it has also been delayed.

QuoteDivinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition will be out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October 27. Mac and Linux will be right on their tail, arriving at the beginning of December as we finalise the ports. We know it's been quite a wait, but it'll be worth it!

You can see their Kickstarter update here for the full info.

I always try to be positive (despite what some commenters think), but it's hard to remain positive when every time they state something positive, we get slammed down with another delay. I really hope it's worth it when it arrives, and since I didn't personally pay a single penny towards it yet I won't really have any "hard feelings" when it's release, but I imagine whoever backed it just for Linux will not be amused.

You can see a video below where they do a comparison from old to new:

I am so very glad I stopped Kickstarting Linux games a long time ago. Far, far too many broken promises.

Thanks for sending it in, shivoc.

They've crossed the line from irritating to hilarious with this delay. Fick this game

Quoting: AkamanahFuck this devs. I will download from torrents.
Wrong attitude. If you have any interest in the game, even after all of the bullshit, then you need to buy it. Stealing it doesn't make you any better than the developers. There are actually a number of excellent RPGs available for Linux these days, so why not simply buy one of those instead?

Sad (but even more sadly, expected) news :(

Quoting: subIt's not unrealistic that by now the dog of a sub-sub-sub-contractor is in charge for the port.
So don't hold your breath.

As a dogsperson I have to step in here now. Actually (my) dogs are very reliable. If I say sit, they sit... or they look cute. Either way, I am happy!

Barring any serious unforseen circumstances, of course. Like having a bad weekend or feeling a bit down one day. That could push porting back by a year or two.

Doggies are not famous for their Linux porting expertise though. Cats on the other hand...

HOHOHOHOHOHOHO.
Come on you can't be serious!
With Shadowrun: Dragonfall, Pillars of Eternity, Sword Coast Legends, Wasteland 2 and many other great RPGs - that have been already able to actually release the damn port they promised - around the corner, do you think you have the legitimacy to even SELL this game to us?
Pathetic.

can't wait to play the game, but probably going to wait for a sale. I dont feel like paying full price for this game...

Quoting: adolsonI can't wait for it to finally be out so that I never have to hear about it again.

I know right? As someone who has no interest in the title it is rather irritating to constantly see "Durr hurr Divinity Origami Shin NEW ANNOUNCEMENT this hour!" plastered between all of the interesting posts.
