Feral releases a new teaser, something to be revealed in late March

By - | Views: 24,002
Feral are at it again! A teaser has been posted on Feral Interactive's social media pages with an image of the Stonehenge and a hint about a revelation of sorts "in the week beginning with the spring equinox".

You can read their tweet below:

#MondayMystery: in the week beginning with the spring equinox, something marvellous will be revealed to Linux... pic.twitter.com/JfrZlzKsmu

And see the picture here:

Spring equinox is on the 20th of March, so that would put this "revelation" around the end of March. I suppose it's once again time to start brainstorming to figure out what will end up being revealed in March. There are many unreleased games that were announced earlier and we've seen SteamDB entries hinting at more than one possible Linux game in the near-future. It's worth noting that the tweet hints at a Linux release specifically so in my opinion it's more than likely to be a game that already has a Mac port.

What do you think Feral will reveal? I want to see some excellent brainstorming in the comments! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I'm a Linux gamer from Finland. I like reading, long walks on the beach, dying repeatedly in roguelikes and ripping and tearing in FPS games. I also sometimes write code and sometimes that includes hobbyist game development.

Quoting: ZekThePenguinThere are little to no actual ruins or tombs to explore at Stonehenge, so I'd lean more toward Far Cry Primal than Tomb Raider.

There are little to no actual ruins or tombs to explore in the new Tomb Raider, so it could still be Tomb Raider.

Oh yes. I went there.

I guess it's Tomb Raider. Still I do wonder why they port the old game instead of the latest title. What's the idea of porting older games, when you could also port recent ones?

I'm sure they'd love to port all the recent and upcoming blockbusters, but at the end of the day it's not their decision to make. It's up to the IP owner to "hire" them for the job, not the other way around.

The idea of porting older games is to play them right out the box on Linux without the need of using tricks like playonlinux or something like that... I know they use the wrapper method, but is not the same than install wine on linux, then install steam inside wine and then, install the game inside steam inside wine.. We can not wrap games by ourselves like they can.

In other way, it will be cool if Valve include an official compatibility layer for Steam OS...
"This game is not available for Steam OS, would you like to activate the Steam OS Compatibility Layer Mode for this game?"

I find myself not buying day 0 releases because I despise the DLC model that's prevalent with AAA titles right now, then I feel guilty about it (but still don't purchase). I'd just as soon have the best AAA from a couple of years back that have 'complete' editions TBH.

This would be ideal but they don't even do it with dosbox/scummvm games, as GOG in many cases do, so I wouldn't expect it any time soon.

At the time I was a Mac user, they released several UbiSoft games on the Mac. Why not on Linux?

Including AC II and Brotherhood. My guess is that they weren't satisfied with the 'yield' on the Mac App Store, so they didn't bother to port anything further.

and if that ever happened, all developers would simply stick this label to every game and forget about doing linux release.

Well it is a far fetched idea, but what if you consider rocks as buildings in the sunset. Penguin running on top of them.
= Mirrors edge Catalyst?

Now that would be a note worthy linux port for me
I'd love that much more than the 2013 Tomb Raider which I finished multiple times on wine already.
