If you have issues with Saints Row 2, Saints Row The Third, Saints Row 4 or Gat out of Hell you can now submit the issues directly to Virtual Programming on github.

Find their github here, with links to each.

Hopefully they will make all their ports nice and stable with people sending issues directly to them.

Have you been enjoying them? Let us know in the comments.

I find the performance on all of them to be a bit iffy, especially the stuttering. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Quoting: nifkerwhy do they do it on github if they dont post the source code...
Why not? The service provides a rather nice bug tracker. They're not the first company to make use of github for stuff like this.

Quoting: fagnerlnI love SW3, it's my favorite open-world game of all time. SW4 is great too, but isn't fun as SW3. The only thing that annoy me is their loading, it takes too long in comparison to Windows.

Takes >1min in Linux and a few seconds in Windows.
True, I have the game on windows and linux on a hdd, and on linux it needs a lot of time loading

Related to performance, its like 70% the windows performance, but still works great, I played it all on linux, same with sr2

I love the SR3 and SR4 games too! I play them with the Steam Controller but because the right trackpad is mapped to behave like a mouse, I often get the keyboard and mouse bindings on screen instead of the gamepad bindings.

Not sure if I should report this to them or to Valve/Steam community. Or is there a way to fix this using controller settings or action sets? Anyone else experiencing the same?

The whole Steam Controller Action Sets things is totally passing by on me, I guess I don't understand the good use of it...

By the way, I have a high end PC all with SSDs and have the loading issue as well in SR3.

~Ulukai, this is actually a common problem in a lot of games. As games will switch the prompts to what you're using, so if you set it to be a mouse, the game will then think you're using a mouse and keyboard.

You need to try one of the other modes, mouse like joystick is probably the main one to prevent it. Tweak around with it and see what you can come up with, that's the beauty of it remember.

I can deal with the low performance on SR2, it is barely playable at 1080p, but the game crashes way too often. =(
I'm now installing The Third to see how it goes. Worth mention that SR IV runs flawlessly.

Quoting: crazyg4merzUsing the ssd for the os and Hdd with ext4 for the game files too. Loading time is not the problem here too, under 4 seconds on every scene too. I think you need to post the bug in their github. :)

I will post at their github, but I don't know what to say. I recorded with my camera, and ironicaly this time takes about 4 minutes. lol

To be clear, is only the first load, the other loadings after is very fast.

Just post the problem you have and attach your hardware information and the log file of SR4. You can read the instructions here: https://github.com/virtual-programming/saintsrow4-linux/blob/master/README.md
Hope they'll fix it for you mate :)

Edit: so your problem is with SR3, I thought it was SR4. I only played SR4 and SRGOTH, sorry but I haven't bought the 3rd version yet. But still posting it to them doesn't harm. :)

I have SR4, and their first loading takes some time too, I tested it now and takes 59sec.
This is "acceptable", and I don't want to bombarding them with issues (for now at least :P )

Did you set it up that way? It works better if you use the right track pad as mouse-like joystick. You then dial up the sensitivity in game (for the joystick) to maximum. Works a treat.

It's better to let them know though, whether they are going to fix it or not at least it shows that we care about their games. There's no such things as bombarding when the issue is really happening :)
